ワアルザザテ日帰り旅行：アイト・ベン・ハッドゥ・カスバ＆アトラス・フィルム・スタジオ

Brilliant trip, guide entertaining and knowledgeable. A pity AI has caused the demise of film making.

It was really interesting to drive out into the desert and visit a Moroccan film studio (?!) and then visit a Berber village. Our guide Jawad was also great. He drove those crazy switchbacks with ease. He was also really hospitable and kept checking in with everyone about how they were doing.

This was a great experience, the operator picked us up from near by hotel in the morning and we got a tour guide for both the experience as it helps to learn about the history. The operator also gave a lot of information during the drive. Very well planned and truly enjoyed.

This was by far our best excursion of our trip to Marrakesh. It is a very long mini bus trip, but it is so worth it. Our guide Rachid and driver Ahmed were very good! We were picked up at 07:05 from a nearby pick up point to our Riad (communication for this was excellent). We were the last pick up, so we’re straight on our way from there. We stopped just after an hour for the toilet and coffee. Then not long after we pulled in for the Atlas Mountain View (10/10) point. Then another stop for breakfast and the toilet about 30mins-1hr before arrival at Aït Benhaddou. We had 1hr15 exploring on our own there which was the perfect amount of time. Our guide Rachid dropped us at a perfect point so we didn’t have to pay the locals fee of 20MAD to enter (it is free to enter from the big bridge where we came in). Then we moved off to Ouarzazate for lunch. We all went into the restaurant as guided by Rachid, but this restaurant (Restaurant Lakasbah Etoile) only offered a set 3 course menu for 130 MAD with a few choices but we only wanted a light lunch that wasn’t an option. As this was an extra cost to us, we didn’t feel we wanted to pay this much and waste it, so politely asked Rachid if we could find somewhere else on our own. He was understanding but made it clear that other restaurants hadn’t been checked by them so couldn’t guarantee the quality. We found a spot just down the road to have a lighter lunch (just fries) and met back at the bus on time. The final stop at Atlas studios was an optional visit, which we chose to participate in whilst others went to a coffee shop. We knew the cost would be extra and 80 MAD wasn’t too bad at all. We really enjoyed the studio’s and were given the perfect amount of time to explore it (1hr). The drive back had just one stop, so be aware it’s about 1.5hrs until you reach a toilet stop, but this wasn’t a problem for us. Overall, a really good day! Hope this detail helps others ☺️

Cool excursion filled with a lot of great stops. It’s a very long, hot day so make sure to wear comfortable shoes (no flip flops/sandals), bring a hat and sunglasses. Oussama and our driver (I forgot his name, apologies) were great! Very kind and knowledgeable. Only a few suggestions- (1) the van, while decent is not made for anyone taller than 5’5”. The seats are extremely close to each other so my husband and other men had to sit either with their feet in the aisle or bent up to their chest. I’m only 5’4” and I couldn’t stretch my legs out behind the seat in front of me. Also at every stop they would leave the van doors open. I understand the logic but there were tons of flies/bugs so when would get back in the van we were killing tons of flies/bugs just to be comfortable. (2) they need to advise guests that there are additional costs and you need to have cash! For ex. the stop at the Kasbah village there’s a tour guide and there is “suggested” tip of 10MAD (not a big deal but if you don’t have cash you’ll be the odd man out), lunch is at a preselected place (the food was okay, the staff wasn’t the friendliest) and they only take cash (I think that was about 150MAD pp plus your beverages), and entry into Atlas Studios is 80MAD pp (if I remember correctly). Then you’ll want to tip your guide and driver for the day, as they deserve it! (3) If you have any mobility issues, breathing issues, troubles with long walks/hikes you may want to find another tour as there is A LOT of walking, up and down steep hills/mountain side. I’m in pretty decent shape and even I struggled a bit with some of the walking especially with the extreme heat/sun. Again it was all enjoyable but just things to be aware of.

I joined this day trip to visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah & Atlas Film Studios, and it turned out to be a very enjoyable experience. Our guide and driver, Simo and Mohamed, were both friendly, helpful, and made the long journey comfortable. On the way, we stopped at the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, where we had some time to take photos of the beautiful scenery. The views were definitely worth the stop. We also had a café break during the drive, which was a nice chance to relax before continuing toward the main sites. Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah was impressive, and the visit to Atlas Film Studios added a fun and unique element to the tour. Overall, the trip was well organized, and I had a great time. I would recommend this experience to anyone interested in exploring the landscapes and film history outside Marrakech.

We went on a trip with Oussama and Bouja. It was amazing! I learned many new things about the history and culture of Morrocco. I met new and interesting people and we had so much fun together! I was worried that with the high temperatures in June the day will be hard to get through- however, that really wasn’t the case. The program was very well prepared, and Bouja and Oussama took great care of us. They were very kind and attentive. It is clear that they are passionate about the job they do. The stops at the beginning of the trip were well-chosen. Thank you for this trip! The guides we met in the movie studio and in the ancient city also shared many interesting insights.

The trip exceeded my expectations. Along the way you can learn a lot of cultural and historical facts from the guides. Oussama and Bouja are fun easygoing people with a lot of knowledge about Morocco and its traditions. We visited interesting places. Worth the time and money.
