My mom and I went on the Dolceaqua and Italian Market day trip in April of 2024. I am leaving a review now, as it is still a trip that we talk about wanting to do again more than two years later. Xavier was our tour guide along with a trainee who's name we sadly cant remember now. We were picked up by the Tourism Office in Nice and the Drive to Sanremo was beautiful. Our guides gave us so much information along the way about the different areas and advice on what to see/do when we arrived. Our guides were also lovely as we were trying to practice our french and they spoke to us in French slow enough that we understood most things. When we arrived in Sanremo he gave us the name of a cafe nearby to enjoy a coffee and a cornetto. My mom no longer drinks coffee and the trainee said then have a hot chocolate as it is very rich. I'm so glad that they said this as my mom still talks about how it is the BEST hot chocolate she has ever had! Sanremo was a lovely though you could tell its glory days were in the past the people were lovely, the Russian Church was beautiful, and we enjoyed the market. We did not have much luck at the market in Sanremo, however we found some beautiful pieces of jewlery at the market in Dolceaqua. This town was spectacular with a beautiful church, wonderful restaurants, and of course the old castle from which the views were stunning. Dolceaqua is very much uphill though so keep this in mind for those who have knee problems. We left Dolceaqua a bit early so that we could drive the long way back through Menton, as my mom had told Xavier at the beginning of the day she was sad that she would miss it all together and he said that if we left Dolceacqua and Sanremo 10-15 minutes early we would have enough time to drive through Menton. In summary it was a wonderful day, our guides were knowledgable, kind, and a little flexible. I would absolutely recommend Liven Up Tours.

We had the extreme pleasure of having Nicolas Remires as our tour guide to Italy and the Cote d Azur. He was so knowledgeable, a GREAT driver, caring of his customers, adaptable and just the best. We were so lucky. The tour itself was spectacular. Thank you again Nicolas. Most highly recommended.

The medieval village is impressive as is the “Ponte Vecjhio”.The market at Sanremo, however., is disappointing..Rather dirty and filled with China knock offs. Our driver, Mack, did not go out of his way to point out ponts of interest and focused on chatting and in French with a Bretton couple to rest of English and German speakers..

We had a great day with our guide Ben, a pleasant and very professional person. His wise advice and availability throughout the route greatly contributed to the success of this outing.

Our guide Zara was very knowledgeable about so many topics fun while learning! Took her time with us despite running behind due to heavy traffic to start her day :)

I took the tour with Nicolas and he was an amazing driver/guide. We had both french and english speakers on the tour and Nicolas managed to divide attention equally to the 2 groups. He explained all instructions in both languages and translated any of the stories shared by group members. We went to the San Remo market and it was great. We also had time to ourselves in the city and I loved it. I absolutely recommend Nicolas and the Italian markets tour even for solo travelers like myself.
