Our Guide Anita was so helpful and kind pointing out items of interest on our tour. The Sherry tasting at the end is just what we needed. The cheese was really good (although a little sparse- only 2 slices per person) and 2 glasses of sherry one white and one red. No seconds. I give this tour a 5 star because I truly loved our guide. She really cared about us and you could tell she was confident in her job.
We had a very fun day with Anita and Luis during our ride around / walking tour of Cadiz. We visited the beach made famous in "Die Another Day" (think Halle Berry coming out of the water!). We stopped to visit the 1812 monument and did a walking tour of the town, all the while listening to Luis' very humorous stories! ("I'm just kidding - not!"). We visited a rooftop restaurant for some tasting of local cheese, sweet and nonsweet sherries (found the secret is to add some of the sweet to the regular - great!), and then continued walking through the town to reach the main square. Luis helped us find a store with great buys (check out the hand painted fans). After the tour was over, Luis walked us back to the Cadiz Cathedral. We toured that on our own, and it's worth the admission. Incredible marble church, very baroque, and lovely side chapels. We also saw the exhibit "The Mystery Man" which is based on the Shroud of Turin. There is actually a full-size man (wax?) who bears all the scars and injuries as documented from the measurements on the shroud, and even has the hair to match. It does leave you with the feeling that the shroud, indeed, was of Jesus, but who knows for sure? Overall, we enjoyed Cadiz very much and would highly recommend the tour!
Guides met us right at the main gate with a sign saying “Shore” and “Excursion” in smaller letters. The first part of the trip was on a comfortable bus with two accesses making it easy to get on and off. We got to see the beach and walk on a fort near the water that was mission style with a bathroom. Lots of history about Cadiz was shared by our amazing guides Anita and Luis. We broke into smaller groups for the walking portion through the old city. Anita was easy to listen to and was very knowledgeable about Cadiz. Finished the tour with sherry and cheese on a rooftop terrace. I highly recommend this tour! Excellent!
Cadiz Shore Excursions: is a tour lasting 4 hours telling the history of the founding of Cadiz and showing the historical monuments of the city. Part is by bus and the last part by a stroll through the main squares of the city.
No show. Waited at pickup point shown on their own map for 45 minutes (in the rain) and pickup never came. Tried to get ahold of someone through the app but no one responded/answered
A large group split into 3 groups. Our guide did not have a microphone. We could not hear anything due to the crowds. Not worth the money. Heard about 10%.
Anita was an exceptional tour guide. She was knowledgeable, pleasant and kind. We saw and learned so much. I would definitely recommend her.
Very well organised and well worth the price. Easy walking, knowledgeable guides and very friendly !! Anita and Louis provided insights into tge history and buildings. The shirt bus trip gives a great overview before the walking part. Walking between the various squares and markets was well paced, with plenty of breaks. The final stop for the sherry and cheese tasting tops off the day. A short walk from there back to the ship.
This is a must do initial introduction to Cadiz. What makes this your worthwhile is not just it's coverage of the city ( which is great to say the least), but the guide. Anita is a treasure who knows her stuff and how to deliver the tales in an engaging, humorous way that keeps her guests waiting to peek around the next corner.
First tour was cancelled, then booked another. Stood at meeting point for 40 minutes with others and it was a no show. Could not contact guide via message or phone
