The crew works hard (Sebastian was a great guide). The water can be very very bumpy so it’s easy to get seasick. We had a couple folks throw up. And the smell of the sea lions is … intense. But the islands are cool and you can swim in the area. It’s a good short experience!

BEST MARINE EXPERIENCE! You don't need to go to Paracas! This is it!!!
My husband I operate an adventure travel business, Endure Adventures, taking travelers from the USA to Peru, Guatemala and South Africa. We had an extra day in Lima after a group trip ended. I booked this experience excited to see what it would be like in hopes to add it to our adventure options. Our expectations were well exceeded!! Reno was our guide. He was professional, very knowledgable about the marine life and surround island history. He even got in the water with us to capture photos and videos for later. Travis and I experience A LOT of unique adventures around the world and this one has landed in our top 5! The sealions are so much fun to watch and experience swimming next to you. They are curious, playful, and so cute!! We cannot wait to bring travelers to Lima for this experience. IT'S A MUST DO!!!! By the way, we have done the Ballastas Island tour twice. Mar Adentro Excursiones has figured out the best of both worlds - swimming with the sea lions along with explaining the history and marine life of the islands.

Just do it.
Everyone should try this out and see what happens. This is for the young and old. So so much fun!! The guide ?Alex was going back and forth in Spanish and English explaining everything.. including the jokes.
Really good tour. Did not feel unsafe at all.

Swim with sea lions
Awesome tour where we got to swim with the sea lions. The water was really cold, but it was worth it to be so close. We got some great pictures of the sea lions.

Fascinating wildlife right in front of Lima
We visited a large colony of sea lions (there were around two hundred, maybe more). It was an unforgettable sight. There were also several Humboldt penguins, hundreds of inca terns, blue-footed boobies, a few red-legged cormorants, a couple of black oystercatchers, many gulls, and some turkey vulturs, but curiously, just a few pelicans. Overall a very satisfying experience for nature lovers, although the choppy sea caused sea sickness in some of the tourists, including myself, so seasickness tablets are advised.

gracias por tu comentario, realmente la colonia es de mas de 5000 lobos marinos, solo que algunos estan en el agua y otros en la isla, tambien vemos pinguinos de hulbolt super juguetones y una gran diversidad de aves marinas, de hecho nuestro oceano se llama pacifico pero muchas veces no lo es, igual vale la pena mil veces realizar la experiencia, siempre decimos que si son propensos al mareo no tomar un gran desayuno y tomar alguna pastilla, sea cual sea no hay excusa para no hacer este lindo tour, muchas gracias y nos vemos pronto

Unclear and Unresponsive
Confusing directions with multiple meeting points listed. I followed the ticket listed meeting point which was incorrect. No contact operator when we missed our tour start time. I contacted the tour contact and received a reply much later indicating it wasn't their fault. Wasted money.

Once in a lifetime!
Amazing experience all round. Organisation was excellent, guide was very knowledgeable and fun. The captain was an expert and made the journey smooth. Once in a lifetime experience swimming with the sea lions. The park rangers have done plenty of research as to how to interact with them safely and respectfully, so you can tell you are not bothering the wildlife and they are happy to interact with you. Would 100% recommend!
