ソレント発ポンペイとヴェスヴィオのフルガイドツアー（ピザ付き）

I booked a tour of Pompeii and Vesuvius with transportation from Sorrento. The meet-up point in Sorrento was just a five minute walk from my Airbnb. Chiara was our tour guide on the bus, and Mimo was our driver. They were both excellent. Mimo managed the winding, narrow roads and hairpin turns with ease, and Chiara was very communicative. She kept us informed and explained our itinerary, and she also pointed out the sights we were passing on the bus. She did this in both english AND in Spanish since there was one Spanish speaking couple on our bus. There were only about 12 tourists on our bus, so it was a nice, small group. Pompeii is a must see for everyone who visits this region in Italy. Our guide through the streets and ruins of Pompeii was Giovanni, and he, too, was an excellent guide. I think it is essential to have someone explain exactly what we are seeing who can also answer questions. After Pompeii, we boarded the bus and were driven to a restauant for lunch. It was a nice restaurant which had some good views. The pizza and beer were tasty and satisfying. All in all, the lunch stop was better than I anticipated. After lunch, we headed to Vesuvius which my husband and I climbed on our own to the rim. The uphill walk to the rim in the late summer heat was challenging, but worth it!! I highly recommend this tour. It was a very good value for cost. We enjoyed our day immensely!

Guides was easy to understand Trip was very good could do with little more time on the mountain but very knowledgeable guides. Lunch stop was nice 😋

This is a long tour but it’s great. We had to take an expensive taxi to our pick up site 40 minutes from where we were staying in Sorrento only to find out almost everyone got on the bus in Sorrento. This was not an option for us when we booked.

HP Travel Services operated our tour, and overall there were some very enjoyable parts, but several of us felt the tour itself was lacking. The bus was quite late picking us up due to traffic. We appreciated that the scheduled touring times remained the same despite the delayed pickup. Knowing that traffic can be an issue in this area, an earlier departure for the incoming bus may have helped. Several other tour buses arrived and departed while we were waiting. On the drive to Vesuvius, we expected to hear some information about Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii, or the history of the surrounding area. Instead, we were primarily told how long the drive would take, the height of the volcano, and how long we had at the site. As a result, the transportation portion felt more like a bus ride than part of the tour experience. Some historical or geographical commentary along the way would have added a lot to the experience. We had approximately an hour and a half to reach the summit, walk around the crater, and return to the bus. This was just enough time, although there wasn’t much time to spare. We took a few short breather breaks while making our way up, which helped. The pizza and wine stop on the way to Pompeii was excellent. Pompeii itself was amazing and well worth the visit; unfortunately, the audio equipment was frequently not working, which seemed to fluster the guide. In addition to the technical difficulties, it appeared that the frequency became difficult to hear if you were toward the back of the group or around a corner from the guide. With a group of approximately 25 people, this became a significant issue. The last four or five people often missed portions of the guide’s commentary — I was one of them. It also seemed that some important details about Pompeii were missing from the commentary. At times, other members of the group prompted the guide to provide additional information that would have been helpful to everyone. It may have been more effective to have the group gather together at designated points and have the guide speak to everyone directly, rather than relying so heavily on the audio system while walking. This would have made it easier for everyone to hear and would also have allowed the guide to provide a more complete explanation of what we were seeing. Overall, the tour included some wonderful experiences. The hike to the top of Mt Vesuvius and the views were amazing, and Pompeii truly at site to see, but better communication and historical commentary during the transportation portions, along with a more reliable way of delivering the guide’s commentary at Pompeii, would significantly improve the experience.

Well organised with knowledgeable tour guides. Got to see the highlights of Pompeii & made it to the top of Vesuvio! Great pizza lunch too.

Our guide nicollo gave us a detailed history of sorrento, pompeii and Vesuvius en route on the bus. He had a great sense of humour and was very informative. On arrival to Pompeii we met our guide for the tour Antony who was fab! The tour takes in the main parts of Pompeii - it was enough to get a good overview of the site. 2 hours in total. It was busy though and you have to keep an eye on the guide because they move on quickly from point to point! Next stop was for pizza at a lovely restaurant which was very well organised and not at all rushed. Onto Vesuvius and this is done at your own pace, it’s a bit steep in places but manageable and the hour and a half is plenty of time to get to the top and back down.

Gaetano was very informative and entertaining. I would highly recommend this tour and hope Gaetano is your guide!

Our tour guide was great, gave us great bits of information along the way, little tips for each town (good places to eat, shop or get gelato!) we did this tour in the first half of September and it was still around 30 degrees and VERY busy, especially in Amalfi. The crowds were quite intense. The free time in each place was ample and a great amount to really see everything you want to see.

This was a fabulous tour. It was more strenuous than expected - a lot of walking on uneven stones. It was a scorchingly hot day but the tour guide did his best to find shade as we walked along. There was so much information to absorb but he explained the history well.

The tour was very well organized. The bus was comfortable and air conditioned. Our tour guide Chiara was knowledgeable, very friendly and interacted well with all of the patrons. Lunch was delicious. The tour guide at Pompeii was excellent! If you are going to climb Mt. Vesuvius I suggest you bring water and use trekking poles for stability. Last but not least, cheers to the bus driver, whose name escapes me at the moment. He was very pleasant and patient. I highly recommend this tour.
