Mindy C. did a great job explaining the history and culture of the three neighborhoods of SoHo, Little Italy and Chinatown. Little Italy was very crowded however because of the annual Feast of San Gennaro every September. So while I was able to get food there outside of the tour, it was too overwhelming to enjoy the experience individually so I had to take the food to go.
Steve the guide was excellent. A proper old school New Yorker who was really knowledgeable.
A walk around SoHo, Little Italy and Chinatown with Angela is a must do! Angela was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about every thing we saw. She talks quite quickly, and the facts keep coming, but even if you leave with 50% of the information she gives, you will learn a lot. She also walks at pace, so you will have to revisit the shops if you want to pop in. There was a toilet stop with enough time to buy the most enormous Itlaian icecream. Angela sent an email after the tour, with all the shops we had passed by and a whole lot more. We are even planning our next trip, just so we can visit the places on Angela's recommndation list!!! I just wish we could have joined her on this trip for her Greenich Village tour, but we had a packed schedule. The group size was small. What else can I say, Angela with her orange hat was fabulous 5*, hope you get her when you book! Do it anyway, as the walk is great!
Steve has a huge advantage by being a born and raised local, with much professional historic and personal knowledge, that he shares with much enthousiasm and respect! A genuine, no nonsense and very kind guide. Highly recommended! Greets from the Dutchies ;)
Excellent explanation of the Guido, Peter. Instead of taking a bus you could explore the area with your own food.
Our tour guide, Liz, was amazing! Made this tour super fun, a lot of interesting information, she was very knowledgeable about the area ans gave us great recommendations. She also had great customer service, she remembered the names and countries of all of us that attended the tour. The time the tour took, we feel it was perfect. She was super easy to find at the meet up point. For us being the 1st time we were visiting NYC, this was amazing!

It was my favorite walking tour I've done anywhere in the world. Steve, our guide, is a New Yorker and he was wonderful. A great mix of history, influences of immigration, politics and everything that shaped Manhattan from a man who lives 70 years in this area. Really interesting!
