A very nice Tour to the great Wall, IT was perfect organized, and WE Had an excellent Guide named Mike. WE Had an lunch Buffet which was very very good.
The two of us went on a MuBus one-day tour with our mother to the Great Wall of China by Huanghuacheng Water. Cece was our guide. 24 hours before the tour, the guide contacted us and gave us the exact place and time of the meeting. It was easy to find. I also sent a map of the area and we checked out where we were going beforehand. The bus left on time. On the bus, Sisi spoke in detail about all the options of routes, entertainment and the gathering point at the Great Wall of China. There was also a short historical account. Cece managed to make our day perfectly balanced. Cece gave clear instructions on where and when we met and throughout the day, updated our whereabouts so we wouldn't get lost and make it everywhere. This section of the wall is by the water which gives it a special charm. A very picturesque place. The ride is magical. I recommend Cece and MuBus!
The experience was incredible, the views and the nature around the great wall was fantastic. Cici, our guide, was perfect. She introducted us the history about the great wall and was very helpful.
CiCi was very helpful even before the tour. She contacted us the day before to make sure all the information was delivered for our tour the next day. The tour was great with plenty of time to enjoy all the parts of the wall and the different activities proposed. CiCi always made sure we knew where we needed to go and made sure we were alright throughout our time at the wall.
We are four friends from France—two guys and two girls—and we joined the MuBus one-day tour to Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall. Honestly, it was one of the best days of our trip to China. And Cici, our guide, was absolutely wonderful. First, the location. Huanghuacheng is stunning. The Great Wall is impressive enough on its own—massive, ancient, and stretching across the green mountains. But here, it does something extraordinary: it walks right into the clear blue-green water of Haoming Lake. The contrast between the grey stone Wall and the bright water is beautiful. And the best part? It was not crowded at all. We had plenty of space to walk, take photos, and simply enjoy the view without the usual tourist chaos. Cici made everything easy and enjoyable. Her English is excellent, and we had no trouble communicating with her at all. She explained the history of the Wall and the reservoir in a way that was both professional and engaging. We learned a lot without feeling like we were in a classroom. She was also incredibly warm and sincere—she genuinely wanted us to have a great day, and that showed in everything she did. But the Wall was only part of the fun. There are so many activities at Huanghuacheng! We started with the little sightseeing train, which runs along the lake and gives you a relaxing view of the mountains and water. Then we tried the water rafting—it was exciting and made us laugh a lot, especially when we got splashed. After that, the two guys rented kayaks and paddled around the calm lake, while us girls walked along the boardwalk and took photos of the Wall reflecting in the water. We also saw families enjoying pedal boats and other水上 activities. There is truly something for everyone. Cici stayed with us throughout the day, always available but never intrusive. She helped us plan our time so we could fit in both the Wall hike and the water activities. She even took a great group photo of the four of us with the Wall and the lake in the background—it is now our favorite memory from China. We returned to Beijing tired, happy, and already talking about coming back. If you are young, love nature and adventure, and want to see a less crowded side of the Great Wall, take this tour. And ask for Cici. She is the best.
It was a really great experience for joining a trip with our guide, CiCi, took care of us very well.
Five good friends together on the MuBus one-day tour to Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall—and with Cici as our guide, we had an absolute blast. When five people travel together, the biggest challenge is pleasing everyone. But Cici managed to take care of each of us perfectly. Cici is an excellent organizer. Before we even arrived, she clearly explained the entire day's route, timeline, and meeting points, and even gave us a hand-drawn map. Once we got to the scenic area, she noticed that among the five of us, some wanted to climb the Wall, some wanted to take a boat, and some preferred the boardwalk. She simply said, "You can split up and meet back at the agreed time." No pressure to stick together. We divided into two groups and agreed to meet by the lake at noon. Cici gave each group directions and estimated how much time each activity would take—so thoughtful. The Water Great Wall is perfect for a group of friends. Haoming Lake is wide and emerald green, and the sight of the Great Wall diving into the water made all five of us pull out our phones. Three of us with better stamina climbed to a high point on the Wall. From up there, the lake looked like a mirror, with the Wall snaking down and disappearing into the water, surrounded by layered mountain ridges—absolutely stunning. The other two friends took the boat ride and said seeing the Wall from the water was a completely different experience. At noon, we met under the shade of a tree by the lake, as Cici had suggested. We spread out a picnic mat, shared all the snacks we'd brought, and laughed while showing each other the photos we'd taken in the morning. In the afternoon, we walked along the boardwalk together, five of us in a row, chatting and taking group photos. Cici was warm and genuine throughout the day. She even took a fantastic group photo of the five of us, choosing the perfect angle. Everyone agreed, "This one's going on my朋友圈 cover." On the way back, she chatted with us like a friend, asking how our day went. This trip with five friends was absolutely perfect. We're booking Cici again next time!
Loved my tour guide Cici she was extremely helpful and pleasant to talk to. This part of the great wall is not as busy so was great to visit.
I joined the MuBus one-day tour to Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall last weekend, and I'm still dreaming about those views. Our guide was Cici, and honestly, she turned a great trip into an unforgettable one. Cici's commentary was top-notch—professional but never boring. She explained the history of the Great Wall, how the reservoir was built, and why this section is called the "Water Great Wall" in such a vivid way that I actually remembered everything. But what really impressed me was how much she cared about everyone. She reminded us to drink water, put on sunscreen, and even pointed out the best spots for photos. And she knows her angles! She showed us exactly where to stand to capture the iconic "dragon entering the water" shot, and my photos came out looking like postcards. Now, the scenery. Huanghuacheng is absolutely breathtaking. The Great Wall doesn't just sit on the ridge—it snakes down and dives straight into the turquoise Haoming Lake. The contrast between the ancient gray bricks and the bright blue-green water is stunning. We walked along the lakeside boardwalk, with the calm water on one side and the rugged wall on the other, surrounded by layered green mountains. Then we took a boat ride. From the water, the Wall looks completely different—majestic and almost mysterious as it disappears into the lake. The breeze, the reflections, the silence except for the soft splashes—I felt completely at peace. Cici was warm and genuine the entire day. She didn't rush anyone, answered every question with a smile, and even chatted with us on the way back like a friend. If you want a day that combines history, nature, and great company, book MuBus and ask for Cici. I'm already planning my next trip with her!
I discover Mubus agency through Ctrip and decided to give a go on one of their Great Wall Tour. I chose the lakeside Great Wall section because it is not really known by European travellers, so why not test it. And I must say it is a pleasant and accessible way to discover the Wall (not long section, steps not too steep) and the adding value : the side activities offered such as the small train. Sure, it is not badaling, but if you have time and you want to enjoy mountain near Beijing it is quite good. Regarding the organisation, my guide Cici did a wondefull job, sending all the infos needed the day before on WhatsApp and explaining well on the bus in the morning some history about the wall and how managing activities once inside the scenic area. This tour is also easy to acess with the meeting point only 50 meters from subway station. Overall a very pleasant day I would recommand for those who like the Great Wall and thanks again to Cici.
