I have enjoyed many Hop on Hop off bus tours and even though the ratings weren’t that high, my positive experience in the past led me to believe this would be the same. Like others, I was disappointed. The stops didn’t really take you to any of the top sights….. The fortress, the abbey , castle….. we caught most of our sights just by walking.

Very poor hop on off experience. The first 15 minutes it was all music, no information at all! I did not read all the poor reviews until after I pre purchased my tickets or I probably would not have. The poor reviews are earned. Not the unkind people, just the lack of information. So much potential for a better trip if they would take the time to narrate more information

Have had great experiences with HopOnOff bus in the past..We have been on the buses that run til 11pm and later. But this one… No… When we arrived in Salzburg, unfortunately, even the tour info people at train station were rude and could not seem to give directions to the pick up for the HopOnOff bus. Finding the HopOnOff booth was not so bad, but we found the booth after approximately a 1/2 hour walk. And we’re told there was a pick up at the train station. The representative at HopOnOff booth was polite and friendly, but told us the buses ran later and even gave us brochure with times the bus ran. Which were later than 430pm. We hopped on last trip of the day and the representative told us we would have an hour. The bus left at 350pm and stopped at 440 PM which was 40 minutes into our bus ride and we were told to exit. Total waste of money. So travelers make sure you know what you are paying for 24 hours is really not accurate as apparently bus in Salzburg Austria only runs til 4:40. Very disappointed. Hoping to get a refund.

Total waste of money. Information shared on the bus was terrible, barely any. Map on the brochure was no help find the stops and stops not announced. Very disappointed.

What a terrible experience… we paid €79 to sit in a traffic jam for a couple of hours… there was no air conditioning and it was a hot day. The commentary was very limited and just had annoying music in the background most of the time… when we complained to the old guy on Mirabell square… he just said it wasn’t his problem and we should contact someone in Vienna !!…. Really 🤔. Don’t waist your money… you can walk to everything in the old town and if you want to go to the outskirts ride on the local bus for €2.90…..

The guy who was working at the ticket pickup booth was quite rude! The bus is fully enclosed so nothing more than a city bus ride really.

There was no HoHo bus at the designated area. I waited thirty minutes and nothing. There was no office either - just construction where the Viator map said the office is. Very disappointing. Pre-paid in full and no bus. I am not happy. Zero Stars.

We appreciate the chance to use this bus in many different cities we visit. The one we took in Salzburg seemed a bit short (1 hour loop), and there was no top deck as there are in many cities. I understand that the city structure may necessitate this to be the case, but it would have been good to know that. I also thought that the price was a bit high, considering these two items as well. The audio worked great and the bus was clean and comfortable.

We only had 1 line available to us. Compared to other hop on hop off bus tours we’ve done, this one was relatively short/less stops and not masses of information given so not the best value for money. It did however have a second channel in English that you could listen to round the tour regarding The Sound of Music which was a bonus. As Salzburg is quite a small city and the bus services are good, we didn’t need it so much for hopping on and off to visit different sights.

Nice driver who took time to share more details than provided in the earbuds. Hit all the highlights and some of the back country which was lovely.
