Incredible! Loved every minute. A remarkable trip with our guide, Roland, so knowledgeable and funny. The variety of animals we see was amazing - proboscis monkeys, Orangutans, long-tailed macaques, silver-lipped macaques (quite rare), pygmy elephants crossing the rubber at Bilit, Rhinoceros Hornbills, a Paradise Tree Snake - the most goes on. The Malay folk in Sabah are just so friendly. I'd do this trip again in a heartbeat. One of the best guided trips I've ever done.
Pretty bad! Viator promptly collected the money and confirmed booking, but the operator didn’t respond to my queries. I contacted Viator support about 10 hours before the trip start time and informed about it. The person chatting with me was confident that the operator will come on time to pick me up. Finally, no one came to pick me up. Viator refunded my money later, but I lost the full day sitting at my hotel room. I strongly recommend not to book this trip with this tour operator.
We arranged our trip to Labuk Bay with Mr Syafiq, who was our guide and driver. We will highly recommend him and give him a 5 star experience for : very comfortable car, excellent driver! Very careful when driving ! great knowledge shared with us and our 2 kids (8 and 10), very pleasant, great ambassador to discover Borneo, truly amazing experience and we leave with so many memories of proboscis monkeys (families and male group!!) hornbills, buffalo, water lizards… Here is his number: +6014 972 5651 Linda and her family
It's very nice place to visit. You can see many Proboscis Monkeys in the half wild place. Problem is there's no public transportation to get here now. I've got a Grab driver to get here but there's no way to go back to the city. I was so lucky because my friends was there with a nice guide driver, named Mr. Azrien. He took me to Sepilok with my friends. I recommend him to hire as a guide and driver. Very reliable, very flexible person. If he's not there, I have to walk back to main street about 12km!
I feel the trip was misleadingly sold. Door to door transfers to me means just that NOT as it turned out a requirement to purchase return air tickets at a further cost of some 60%. We were given no suggestions as to flight timings which resulted in an in an unnecessarily early start. Also the communication between the operator and local guide was poor. We almost didn’t get one of the visits as he knew nothing about it. All said it was a great opportunity to view some incredible wild life.
Dear Ms Annie, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate your insights, as they help us continually improve our services. Regarding the flight timing, we understand that the early start may have been challenging. For guests departing from BKI, our itinerary is designed to ensure you catch the scheduled 10AM feeding at Sepilok. Since the following flight would arrive too late for this unique experience, taking the first available flight is necessary. We apologize if this requirement was not clearly communicated and will work to make this detail more prominent in our pre-trip information. We also acknowledge your concerns about the door-to-door transfer description and the additional return air ticket cost. Our booking details and itinerary outline these arrangements; however, we understand that further clarity is beneficial. We are reviewing our communication materials to ensure future guests have a complete understanding of all aspects of the trip. Lastly, we regret the miscommunication between our operator and the local guide. We are addressing this internally with our partners to ensure that our team is fully briefed, so you can enjoy a seamless experience at every stage of your journey. We’re glad that, despite these challenges, you had the opportunity to witness such incredible wildlife. Your feedback is invaluable, and we remain committed to delivering a high-quality experience for all our guests.
Amazing trip seeing the orangutans, proboscis monkeys and sun bears in one day. Our guide was knowledgable and funny. Would recommend
Great fun to start the trip with! Assisted by a fantastic travel guide named Hassan. If you can get him as a Guide you will get a fantastic experience and especially a very nice and helpful Guide
Our tour was part of Tripadeal from Australia for 10 days. Brendan the tour leader was fantastic, so informative and funny, and passionate about his country. We really missed him when we did the 2 days add-on to Kuala Lumpur. It was great to see the different varieties of monkeys and orangutangs learning skills to allow them to go back and fend for themselves in the wild. The visit to see the Sun Bears was a highlight for me, and to hear about the wonderful work being done there
Guide Herman and driver Ben were fantastic from start to finish. Herman is so knowledgeable about the local area and we were thrilled to see orangatangs, proboscis monkeys, and sun bears along with a huge millipede and a black mamba cobra! Great experience!!
I have a good experience and the staff has a better service. I really satisfied and enjoy it. Other than that the environment is also clean and comforting.
