Pro Island Tours Terceira, ruled by father and son Antonio, is a jewel in the jungle of tour companies. Not only that the 2 tours we made with them (Combo Wale watching/Jeep tour and caves tour) have been very professionally organized and worth every Euro. You get so many information about that beautiful island Terceira without feeling like in a classroom. But what you can't pay with money is the exceptional level of warm, personal service provided by Antonio. The cherry on top of the cake was having lunch together with father and son Antonio on their private estate. In 25 years of frequent traveling we never had such an amazing experience. Natural talents like Antonio are rare in todays travel industry. From the first moment, there was an awesome communication base which turned more and more into a friendship. Starting with handshake and ending with hugs - no more words needed. We have never left a travel destination with so much personal enrichment. No need to mention that we will return to our new friends in Terceira. Last but not least: Only those who think about a german sleeping song for babies in the middle of the christmas cave will ever imagine how much fun we had 😉

The whale watching was a nice experience even we saw no much… the cachalots were hiding. But dolphins were a lot nicer 👍 The guide was nice and speaking well english.

Great way to get to know the island quickly! We loved feeding the baby cows! Carolina was super sweet and very knowledgeable. We had a fantastic traditional meal for lunch.

Fantastic day!! Our jeep driver, Antonio, promptly picked us up at our hotel to drive us to the marina. Our whale watching excursion was a blast. The whale spotters up on Monte Brasil notified or captain of a sighting five miles out. We beelined it straight out into the ocean. They provide long rain slickers, so when it sprinkled for a bit we stayed dry. So fun!! There were ten of us on the boat and we were treated to a wonderful surprise...orca killer whales!!! I think the boat captain was the most excited as it's a rare sighting. They were incredible to watch. We also saw several pods of playful dolphins. After three hours, we headed back in to the marina where Antonio awaited out return. My husband and I enjoyed the amazing tour of the inner island including the top of Monte Santa Barbara, highest point of the island. The bumpy dirt roads were a blast. Antonio was a wonderful guide sharing lots of information. He was kind and humorous. The authentic BBQ lunch was amazing!! What a treat to enjoy cheese and bread, bread and wine, and walking the beautiful park while lunch was prepared. We then sat down with Antonio and his helper and enjoyed the BBQ meats (Alcatra), salad, rice and dessert. The conversation and whole experience was absolutely delightful. From sea level to highest point and all in-between, 8-5 has never been so fun 😊

We saw a whale and several dolphins in the morning. After that we were excellently catered for. This was followed by a tour across the island and some "hidden spots" All in all a great day with great guide. Only and only the price is handsome but still within reach.

Punctual and uncomplicated pick-up directly in the port (cruise ship). Unfortunately, the whale watching was cancelled right in the early morning - it was stormy, force majeure, you can do nothing... We were then compensated a lot:-) Sara drove us four participants around the entire, beautiful island very privately, individually and without stress. A fantastic, very special day with many magical moments and impressive natural beauties. Our wishes have always been taken into account. All-round successful excursion Thanks to our incredibly sympathetic driver Sara - thank you, unreservedly recommended!

The booked excursion had light and shade. Shadow: We waited 1:30 hours for two guests, then our guide left and addressed all travelers if they were the missing couple. The Jeep was equipped with cross benches at the back, which was not really comfortable to sit on. In a bent-over sitting position, with very little view with 100 km from the port to the port in every bump, you have whirled through the back of the jeep - pleasant is different. It was always a very fast ride at the lady has lost a cyclist. The bruises have been on me for a long time. Light We had a small boat and very dedicated guides, these were really trying to find whales. We were lucky enough to see a fin or sei whale. The sea was fierce but worth it. Afterwards we were picked up and given a quick sightseeing tour of the city and then brought to dinner at full throttle. In a kind of mountain hats we had our snack everything was in the fog and rain - nobody can do anything for the weather and in clear weather it would have been a wonderful view. Then back in the jeep and at full throttle all around the island. With a little less speed it would have been close to great, so unfortunately only it could have been great. In hindsight, I'm glad the other two guests didn't come. The performance for three in the back of the Jeep No thanks. The lady loves her profession and fast driving that has radiated and lived you out. We would do the trip again anytime just in another car and at less speed.

Since we only had one day to spend on Terceira, we decided to book the Whale Watching and Jeep Tour in order to make the most our time. To make a long story short, it was the very best decision :) We were able to book the tour by phone call one day before and Antonio managed all of it. From pick-up at the hotel in the morning until he dropped us back of in the late afternoon we had a very good connection with Antonio. Such a kind and and open hearted guy! His authentic an personal way of introducing the island to us was very enlightening. This is a summery of the highlights: - seeing various dolphins on the whale watching - enjoying a typical Azorean lunch (homemade) very delicious! - visiting a local place of bullfight preparation (that we would have never found by our own) - crossing over the island on narrow paths, enjoying some offroad vibes - listening to Antonio's stories about Terceira island life - seeing various places a visitor shoud see when staying on Terceira ... to be continued.... Anyone who wants a personal approach while visiting Terceira shoud book a tour with Antonio, it will be a unique experience to remember.
