Our guide picked us up in Split and drove us to Medjugorje. We crossed through the Bosnia/hertogvina border so you need your passport. The drive was 1.45 but you may get delayed through the border depending on traffic. Every passenger is checked and photos taken. Upon arriving Mario took us to apparation hill - very difficult 1/2 mile walk up the hill on boulder strewn mountain. Very dangerous especially it was raining and slippery. There are two other places the Blessed Mother appeared without going up that mountain. Then Mario drove us to the church about 15 minutes away. Very crowded could not get into the church. You can stay outside and listen to Mass
Mario was excellent guide. Very informative of area and guided us through the day and took us to a local restaurant that was wonderful. The hillside drive was beautiful. He was very kind and accommodating.

Medjugorje with Portal Private Tours
Our tour guide Andriuj picked us up at our apartment in Okrug Gornji. It was a very comfortable car. He was very entertaining on the ride and got us into Bosnia-Herzegovina without any issues. When we got to Medjugorje he knew just where to take us and when to get us there in time for the English speaking Mass. He got us to Apparition hill and met us when we were done. He knew the area very well and took us to a lovely local restaurant for lamb on the spit with local wines and beer. It was a wonderful day and Andy was a wonderful tour guide.

A great Private Day Trip to Medjugorje from Split
This was a great experience for all 8 of us. Prior to the trip communications were clear and prompt, the team answered all our questions and was also happy for us to pay half before the trip and half after the trip. A convenience not a lot of other companies provided. Mario was a wonderful guide - he was informative with his great knowledge and experience of Split and Medjugorje and he kindly catered to our needs, especially as plans changed due to the extreme heat. We set out 6:30am and returned at 5:30pm, and we saw everything we wanted to see without it feeling dragged or rushed. The apparition hill at Medjugorje was a peaceful climb and we had a prayerful moment at the top. It was busy but it did not feel crowded, everyone was very respectful and in the moment. Mostar was beautiful but due to the extreme heat and the city being the second hottest city in Europe, our tour guide Santa Marie gave us a whistle stop tour (as requested) under nice shady areas with stunning views and snapped some photos before we returned to the AC. Santa gave us a fascinating snapshot of the history of Mostar and the Sitar bridge and happily answered our questions. Overall, it was a brilliant trip and a huge thumbs up to Mario, Santa Marie and the Portal Private Tours team.

Unforgettable Experience
Our tour guide Andrija made our trip to Bosnia Herzegovina an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend doing an overnight. We visited Mostar, Medugorje, Vrelo Bune, & Kravice Waterfalls and several other hidden gems we would not have known about otherwise. We also had a walking tour of Mostar and wine tasting at Spirit of Herzegovina. Anna did both the wine tasting and walking tour and it felt like a good friend giving you a tour of their home city.

Wonderful Day Trip to Medjugorje
Mario was the best!
We were picked up at the cruise port. Our Mercedes van was spotless!
Mario was a great driver and guide. He was very knowledgeable and helped us to make the most of our time. As promised, we were back to the ship in plenty of time. A wonderful way to see Medjugorje. He made crossing the border into Bosnia a breeze!
We were blessed with great weather and no crowds (a very nice surprise)
I would high recommend Portal Tours.
Thank you for a great day!

Excellent excursion!
Our trip to Medjugorje with Portal Private Tours was great! Mario, our driver, was very professional, informative, and spoke excellent English. He gave us a lot of cultural , historical, and social aspects of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Medjugorje on the drive. He was very flexible and gave us good advice on places to eat when we arrived at the site. The car was very comfortable (Mercedes Benz van) and appeared new. Overall, the experience was fantastic.

Outstanding Split Tour
Ernest picked us up at the cruise ship terminal promptly at 9 am and we drove to Kirka Falls…learned about the extensive history of Croatia as Ernest is well read and revealed many fascinating facts….he also shared his experience as an olive farmer….
We had a great family style lunch at a local restaurant….then visited Trogir..again with an excellent review of the history.
We have a group of life long couples and we travel together…everyone thought that this was the best tour we have had in our times traveling together. It also is a very good value for your money. Nives booked everything online with us several months before our tour…and it was seamless!
Ask for Ernest….he is the best!

Run like clockwork but interesting and fun
The Portal company takes good care of their clients.
From the first day when they pick us up in the airport, we had a brief introduction of Dubrovnik.
Our trip to Mostar and Medjugorje was well managed by our tour guide Andrija. He even introduced us to Burek and the best roast lamb in Bosnia Herzegovina. Patiently guided us in Medjugorje and brought us to Split. He is an excellent driver and guide.
At Mostar we were guided by Anna Maria whose knowledge about the place made Mostar an interesting place.
Lastly our guide and driver was Mario, who guided us in Plitvice. His knowledge of the working of the National park even made us avoid the queue. It’s was a tiring place to visit with so many steps that we were able to do more than 15000 steps. He safely guide us along the way and patiently wait for us. After our tour of the park full of Waterfall and lakes, he safely brought us to Ljubljana.
The coordinator of our trip was Nives. I think with her on the helm, our trip ran smoothly.
Keep up the good work Portal , we will be recommending to our fellow travellers.
