This was an amazing tour. Highlight was Iguana Park which just sensational. Francisco (our guide and co-owner) was fantastic and so knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about the city. A big thank you to him as he went out of his way to help us get passes to go to Galapagos which we were really struggling with. (Old people and technology). I’d really recommend this trip. He tailored it to what we wanted and as it was so hot we cut a couple of bits out. Our choice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Best Highlights of Guayaquil with Julio and Andre. My favorite event was the Cable Car ride over the river. Wonderful views. Julio was a wonderful tour guide. So knowledgeable and his English was perfect. We felt perfectly safe on this tour. All in all a great experience.

The trolley ride was wonderful and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. The city is crowded so the tour guides ability to find parking was important.

I had little time and managed to fit this tour in by adapting it to my schedule. Julio and the driver adapted to my availability and my wishes with great pleasure and flexibility. I loved the tour because Julio is very knowledgeable and passionate about his city, something he conveys very actively. I learned interesting things and experienced contact with locals who gave me an excellent idea of how they live and think. Thank you very much Julio!!

Julio was absolutely fantastic as a tour guide. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. I recommend him 100%! Andre was the driver. He was great too. Julio absolutely loves Ecuador and his city. He made me want to move here! Such a wonderful guide and person. Ask for Julio. You will not be sorry!

We had a great experience being shown around by Walter. He was very knowledgeable and knew all the best spots. The cable car part was excellent as was the iguana park. Would definitely recommend for a safe tour of the cities and exploring different parts

Julio was so knowledgeable and literally took us all over the city. And the cable car was awesome. Our driver was great too.

Our guide Simon was one of the best guides we’ve ever had! He picked us up right at the hotel and he had a marvelous itinerary planned. He spoke perfect English. He was so flexible— we wanted to see something that wasn’t on the tour and he was so pleasant and accommodating and took us right there. He made it clear he wasn’t in any hurry and wanted to make sure we were having a great time! He then accommodated our request to be dropped off at a totally different spot than our pick up which saved us a huge hassle! If your ever in Guayaquil request Simon!

We arrived in Guayaquil one full day prior to our Galapagos National Geographic Lindblad Expedition. Our tour operator and others told us to stay on the hotel property (due to “safety” concerns). We decided to hire a private guide to show us around the City. Francisco at Protrip was incredible. He and a driver picked us up at our hotel in a private van. The driver would drop us off with our guide Francisco at each site. We would walk through to the other side, and the van would pick us up at just the right place at the right time. Francisco had everything lined up so that we would get the most out of our 4 hr tour - we even took the cable car across the river and through the City. We also saw all the famous sites, and Francisco taught us how chocolate was made “from the bean to the bar” and even got us fresh Cacao to taste. It was an amazing safe way to see the City. At the end of the tour the van dropped us off at our hotel, and about an hour later we saw Francisco in the hotel Lobby, and he spontaneously & graciously drove us in his own private car to a recommended restaurant nearby and explained to us how safe the area we were in was, so after a delicious dinner we safely walked back to our hotel. He could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable. He really made our pre-cruise stay in Guayaquil special - I’m so glad that we ventured out with Francisco and Protrip!

Exploring Guayaquil with Julio as my guide and Andre as my driver was a super experience! Julio was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the city, while Andre made every part of the journey smooth and comfortable. As a solo traveler, I especially appreciated how safe and well cared for I felt throughout the entire experience. Julio and Andre were attentive, professional, and made me feel completely at ease while exploring the city. Some of the highlights were seeing the beautiful sights from the cable car, admiring the stunning cathedral and vibrant art district, and visiting Iguana Park! Julio brought the history, culture, and character of Guayaquil to life with his insight. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Guayaquil, especially solo travelers. They didn’t just show me the city—they made my experience feel safe, personal, and truly memorable!
