We had an absolutely fantastic time exploring Crete with George! From start to finish, the tour arrangement was excellent. George was incredibly thoughtful and proactive, adjusting our itinerary perfectly based on the predicted weather forecast so we could enjoy the sights comfortably (and safely dodge the light rain at the end of the day!). He timed our stops brilliantly, making it feel like an off-peak visit. We were able to explore the Palace of Knossos and the beautiful streets of Heraklion at our own pace without feeling rushed or overwhelmed by crowds. George gave us a profound and fascinating taste of the history of Greece and Crete—spanning from 3500 BC and the Minoans all the way through the Byzantine and Venetian periods. The itinerary was packed with local gems. After walking through the Venetian Harbour and seeing Palace of Knossos , we visited the Politakis Olive Mill for a wonderful tasting of Cretan "liquid gold." A major highlight was visiting the Ploumis Pottery Workshop in Thrapsano, where Me even got to try making pottery hands-on, and we learned about the clever Cup of Pythagoras! We ended the sightseeing at the peaceful Agarathos Monastery before a scenic drive back. Throughout the entire day, George was a highly responsive, safe, and accommodating driver. If you want a tour that perfectly balances deep historical knowledge, local culture, and personalized care, we cannot recommend George enough. Thank you for a wonderful day!

Our tour was a wonderful experience. George was helpful and friendly and made sure we did exactly what we wanted to. We felt we had a “real” experience with real Cretans. It was lovely.

This was an excellent tour! George was a superb and engaging tour host and our driver (very safe we noted). Very knowledgeable as he is a native of Crete. We designed our tour stops as we went, just as stated in the tour I selected. We wanted flexibility and got exactly that - and it was amazing. Palace of Knossos tour started our day then followed with a wonderful olive oil mill visit and tasting, then a wine tasting at a small family winery. Beautiful country. We finished in Heraklion with a little shopping. A full day of about 6 hours, we (4 of us) completely enjoyed the day. I don't think we could have had a better tour host and driver, we felt lucky to get George. He runs a personal business and you can tell from the start. He was also excellent in communicating with us prior to and after the shore excursion. Highly recommend this tour, well worth the price for the private tour with 4 people. Thank you George!

If I could rate six stars, I absolutely would. George truly made this the most special experience I have had not only while on the island, but while traveling alone in general. George was beyond knowledgeable of Heraklion - to the point where I thought there was nothing that he didn’t know. He walked me through the very complex history of the island like it was a walk in the park - WHILE we were walking in a park along the Venetian wall. He made sure that I was comfortable the entire trip and checked in several times to adjust the plan to best accommodate my preferences. Also, George is one of the most kindest most thoughtful people I have ever met, and he was great company to spend the day with. I cannot recommend this trip enough!

This was a fantastic experience. Lots of fun and interesting stuff to see. It was the best of everything of Crete. We had some delicious Cretan food and wine, saw a beautiful monastery and also the archaeological site of Knossos. George has done an amazing job with this tour and I highly recommend it

George was a fantastic guide; his flexibility and willingness to adapt to our schedule made the day even more special. We especially appreciated his insights into Crete's history, culture, and people; it was a true treat to find the activities "off the beaten path," as it were, and experience wine, olive oil production, and coffee with someone as knowledgeable and personable as George!

We had a wonderful half-day trip in Heraklion and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We started with a relaxing stop at a beautiful small beach, followed by visits to a traditional pottery workshop and an olive mill, where we learned about local Cretan craftsmanship and olive oil production. The highlight was definitely the magnificent Palace of Knossos, with its incredible history and fascinating ruins. A perfect combination of nature, culture, history, and authentic Crete—all packed into a well-organized half-day tour. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff but this is really just a taxi ride. I booked in advance Knossos and old city, but when we got picked up he asked what we wanted to do, as if the booking info didn’t have it set straight. If you do the palace, know having a tour guide is extra. Around 80-100 euros. Just because it says “English speaking guide” doesn’t mean you’re getting a city tour guide. I think we could have gotten a taxi cheaper and seen the sites on our own.
