王家の谷は、世界で最も重要な考古学的遺跡の一つであり、ユネスコの世界遺産にも登録されている。 ルクソール西岸の砂漠の断崖に隠されたこの王家のネクロポリスは、新王国（紀元前1550–1070年）のファラオの最後の休息地であった。 ここでは、ラムセス2世、セティ1世、ツタンカーメンなどの伝説的な支配者が所有する60以上の王墓が発見されている。 それぞれの墓は、王があの世へ旅立つ際のガイドとなるように、鮮やかな色彩の壁画や死者の書の碑文で美しく飾られています。 標準的な入場券には3つの墓が含まれ、当局が持ち回りで選び、保存している。 廊下や埋葬室、神々やファラオ、冥府の情景など、それぞれの墓はユニークな体験を提供します。

Pick up from our hotel was on time and we were warmly greeted by the guide and driver. The car was spacious and clean. Our guide provided detailed explanations of every temple and tomb we visited giving us very interesting insights into ancient Egyptian religion and the various pharaohs and their relationships with each other. The statues, temple designs and hieroglyphics were all described very clearly, bringing the stories described by the wall paintings to life. A thoroughly enjoyable tour with a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Note that the temple and tomb visits require a lot of walking and stairs/ramps which are a challenge for persons with reduced mobility.

Overall,it was an unforgettable experience everything is planned and organised from the time they’ve picked us from the airport.
