Great personal attention from Brian and had a wonderful experience. He even provided towels for our cold plunge.
I had a great time exploring and learning from our guide. He was knowledgeable, fun, and respectful of my capabilities. If you're in the Vancouver area, especially if you don't have a car, I highly recommend that you consider Vancouver Eco Guide to get you places only a local would know! There are lots of options and Brian is very open and flexible to beat meet your adventure needs!
Our guided hike through Lynn Canyon was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Vancouver, and our guide, Ben Spanier of Vancouver Echo Guide, made it truly unforgettable. Ben’s knowledge of the rainforest was nothing short of remarkable. Every step along the trail became a fascinating lesson as he pointed out native plants, towering old-growth trees, birds, slugs, mosses, and the incredible relationships that make this temperate rainforest such a unique ecosystem. His enthusiasm for nature was contagious, and it was clear that this wasn’t just a job—it was his passion. What made the experience even more special were Ben’s personal stories. Having grown up in the area and visited Lynn Canyon throughout his life, he shared memories and experiences that brought the forest to life in a way no guidebook ever could. His storytelling was engaging, funny, and authentic, making the hike feel like an adventure with a longtime friend rather than a formal tour. The scenery was spectacular. Crossing the suspension bridge above the breathtaking canyon and waterfall was exhilarating, and the peaceful trails offered stunning views without the crowds. Every turn revealed another beautiful waterfall, towering conifers, lush ferns, or crystal-clear glacial pools. If you’re visiting Vancouver and want an experience that combines breathtaking scenery, fascinating natural history, and a guide who genuinely loves sharing his home, this tour is a must. Ben’s warmth, expertise, and infectious passion transformed a beautiful hike into an experience we’ll remember for years to come. We couldn’t recommend this tour more highly!
Brian is exactly what you want in a local guide - friendly, knowledgeable, adaptable, and still very much in awe of the beauty and wonder of this place. I would not hesitate to book another tour with him. 5 stars all around!
Brian is an amazing guide. We are so happy that we booked a private tour. We were able to go at our own pace and ask any and all questions that came up for us. Not only is Brian highly knowledgeable about the ecology of the Pacific Northwest, he also has an amazing ability to weave in the histories of the area. He even showed us a great spot for a post-hike lunch! We've been to Vancouver many times, and this has easily became one of our favorite experiences.
I would definitely recommend this tour! Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and know a lot about the different plants. I plan to do his longer tour from Van to Whistler when I’m in town next!
Had a great time on the hike. The scenery was unreal — tons of cool spots along the way and the bridges had some amazing views. Our guide really knew his stuff and made the whole thing super fun and interesting. Definitely recommend to anyone in the Vancouver area.
Highly recommend! Brian was knowledgeable, fun, and kind. The hike was awesome. Learned a lot, saw Vancouver’s unmatched beauty, and truly enjoyed ourselves. Highlight of our visit!!
It’s not Capilano Bridge but did not feel we were missing out - we crossed a suspension bridge and walked through the forest with Brian - an intelligent, knowledgeable and patient guide. His explanations and answers to all our questions - informational, environmental, biological and ‘stupid’ were fantastic. The waterfalls, trees & plants, fungi and natural beauty were great to see. Best of all …. The number of people at this place were relatively few compared to Capilano and it was free! Go!
I would recommend this personal tour without hesitation ! It was wonderful, I keep such a warm memory of it (even though we hiked under the rain 100% of the time !). The hike is beautiful and Brian adapts it to your liking, so it really is your own experience to build. He’s also very knowledgeable about the area, so I could ask all kind of questions and learnt a lot. He comes very prepared, so if you’re missing a snack, gloves or a rain poncho, he’s got your back !
