The actual experience was simply divine for me! Seeing the turtles and swimming with them was an absolute highlight of my Egypt vacation, and for that alone, the excursion was worth it for me. 🐢❤️
The food was very authentic and I liked it a lot. However, it was only served after the actual experience.
I see room for improvement in the organization: For the rather long drive, the bus could be a bit more comfortable. In addition, more information about the day's schedule beforehand or at the beginning would have helped me. At times, it was not entirely clear when things were taking place and how the daily schedule was planned.
A note for future participants: Seeing a dugong is more a matter of luck and by no means guaranteed. In my experience, those who come mainly for the turtles will be more likely to get their money's worth here – the encounters with the turtles were truly unforgettable for me.
Despite the points mentioned, the experience itself was something very special for me and remains one of my fondest memories of this vacation. I would definitely recommend the excursion because of the wonderful turtle encounters.

Something else more interesting to do
PICKUP 25min after what had been announced and since it was already early (5:30 AM), it was becoming a bit complicated.
THE BUS? We ended up in the back, okay, it was full, but 3.5 hours of "Egyptian" roads when there is no room on the back seat and almost no shock absorbers, an ordeal. On the way back? A flat rear tire, they ask my companion to switch seats with our son (an adult in the seat of a teenager who already has no legroom, plus the people in front reclining their seats, we tried to make the driver understand that we had no room. Instead of changing the other people, we drove for 3 hours and 30 minutes with the tire flat)
The guide was very friendly with the Eastern European group. Us? French speakers getting by in English and German, we barely existed.
The equipment? No fins for my wife, we had to wait for the 2nd dive (not the most beautiful and interesting snorkeling spot!) for the guide to be willing to find some. A life jacket for a 12-year-old child? They bring out an XXXL vest, at that point we get annoyed, the guide talks to us as if we were kids, saying all we had to do was ask, and then another bus lends us a vest.
No explanation about the dugongs (even if we know it's rare to see them, but then don't offer that in the title).
The price for the activity, the quality of the transport, and the guidance is outrageous!
My advice? Do another activity.
7 hours of driving, for 2 hours on this beach looking/searching for 30 minutes for turtles and 30 minutes of snorkeling… ABE

Turtles at Abu Dabbab.
It was nice to see the turtles, but there were too many of us, which caused a lot of splashing in the water as we approached a turtle, creating some agitation. Moreover, the lunch was horrible. Not good at all, very bad. The location was an hour by van from the beach. I think we should have eaten at a beach restaurant even if it cost a little more!
On the other hand, our guide Sam provided good supervision and explained the rules to follow in the water. He was not responsible for the horrible meal. It is the provider who chose this arrangement.

Great turtles and corals
You can see several turtles and accompany them while snorkeling. Approximately every 10 minutes you come to the surface of the water to catch your breath. In addition, you can see a very nice coral reef with many coral fish. However, you should not expect manatees, they exist theoretically, but are extremely rare.
When choosing diving goggles, you should examine them carefully beforehand if they are really healing otherwise you will be in constant trouble underwater. Fins were not available in all sizes.
