This tour was so enjoyable. It covers the major sights around St. John’s in 3 hours. But, it was our tour guide Leo who made it such a great experience. Leo’s story telling was very informative and entertaining at the same time. Highly recommend.

Money well spent. Better value than excursions booked with Virgin Voyages. The pickup was a little chaotic, we stood around a while looking for someone in a red vest, then walked until we saw a McCarthy's bus and asked the driver. Better signage at the gate would be helpful when tourists have no idea what they're looking for. The excursion was great. Bill was our guide and driver, and we enjoyed his love for the area and his passion for the stories. The drive was scenic, Cape Spear was very interesting and he explained where we were and what we were looking at. We could look on our own, or stick with him as he told stories. Great stop with a fantastic view. Signal Hill was interesting with a lovely view over the harbor, and we could see our ship. Quidi Vidi is a picturesque community along a lake, this would be a lovely place to spend an evening. Nice little craft shop with the usual wonderful locally made pieces. Bill also gave us a good look at Jellybean Row. Great tour.

We arrived in St. Johns on a cruise ship and opted to take a MaCarthy tour because it was much more reasonable than the same tour on our cruise’s branded excursion. We were insured we would get back in plenty of time, and we did. There was one issue: we had erred by making our reservation on the day before our ship was to arrive. Unless we swam from Greenland we weren’t going to make it. But the folks at McCarthy understood and accommodated us. They made sure we were on the same tour the next day. Cliff was our guide and he was fabulous! His full-time gig is as a high school social studies teacher of NewFoundland history. Suffice it to say he was fabulous and could answer any obscure question we threw at him. Because of Cliff’s expert information and advice we are determined to return to the province — and visit everywhere from Gander to Gros Morne!

The accompanying guide was competent, available, and concerned about the well-being of his clients. The tour partially met our expectations. I regret forgetting to ask for a guide who could speak French. That is the only hitch in our experience. Otherwise, I highly recommend this excursion.

I originally left a negative review because of the problems I experienced with the tour. Since then, the company has refunded my money, and I appreciate them resolving the matter. I have therefore updated my review to reflect the fact that the issue was ultimately resolved. I would recommend this tour.

Very nice tour, but they try to pack too much into the 3 hours. 30 to 60 minutes more would not have hurt.

The guide was excellent and the tour very nice! Saint John was a stop in our cruise and this tour completed the experience!

We enjoyed the tour very much. Multiple people from the tour provider could not find our name on the list tho. Thank goodness we had a copy of the ticket with confirmation. They made it right and were wonderful, just a caution to folks.

Got off the cruise ship and had a little difficulty finding the bus but once we found where it was parked, we were able to jump on. Tour guide Bill, who is a retired realtor with fantastic knowledge of the city, the hotspots and a great historical perspective. He made the tour a 10 out of 10.

It was great! We had a 3 hour tour of Cape Spear, Signal Hill in St John's Newfoundland with Leslie-Ann Corrigan. She is a great tour guide, charismatic and fun, and the 3 how flew by. I highly recommend this tour - it is great!
