This was unfortunately a case of miscommunication: we received different meeting-point information via TripAdvisor than what was shared with our on-the-ground tour provider. As you correctly explained, our team was waiting on the Zimbabwe side after immigration, while the safari vehicle and guide were positioned on the Zambian side after Zambian immigration. We fully agree that this initial hour of confusion could and should have been avoided, and we are already working with TripAdvisor and our partners to ensure that clear, consistent meeting-point information is provided to all guests going forward. Thank you as well for your understanding and patience during this situation, and for highlighting how helpful fellow guides were in assisting with communication. We recognize that not all travelers would have found this as easy, especially without cell service, and your feedback is extremely valuable to us. Regarding the safari itself, you are absolutely right that Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is a small park with limited game compared to larger reserves. The highlight is indeed the white rhinos, and we’re very pleased to hear that you found the rhino encounter worthwhile and memorable. They truly are magnificent, and we’re glad our guide was able to coordinate with the rangers to take you directly to them and allow you to walk closer for a special experience. We also apologize for the vehicle issues you encountered and for the snack selection not meeting your expectations. While occasional mechanical issues can happen, especially with safari vehicles, we understand your surprise given the proximity to town and the cost of the tour. Your comments have been shared with our operations team so we can improve vehicle checks and overall comfort for future guests.
