There was confusion on the ticket and what they needed to be able to enter. I had 6 emails and the one emai I did not click on the very bottom was the actual QR code they needed to scan. The tall gentleman (9/21/26) working the door was very helpful. The shorter man didn't seem to care if we got in or not. It was raining and no one was allowed to shelter out of the weather - it was confusing. To many emails came from the app. One email with the Actual code is all that is needed instead of more instructions to hop through to find the code.

This was my 6th visit to DC. I had been trying to get into the monument forever. Beautiful people working inside. Very accommodating. Not all my questions were answered but they were very polite. Based on the information provided via the exhibits the monument is a building. I had no idea. The monument is 555 feet high and it looks like the number 1. Very interesting.

It is an incredible view of the city and very interesting how it was built and how countries, states, organizations, and individuals donated over the years to fund it and give Washington acknowledgment. Unfortunately to get a free timed ticket is almost impossible. They disappear in seconds. I was told 3rd party companies buy them up so you might as well buy a ticket. If not a busy time of year you probably can get in early. Smoothest elevator I’ve ever ridden on.

The views are amazing from the top. This would be a great first day in DC tour. You can get a great layout of the mall area and have a better idea where things are located. Buying tickets through Viator is the way to go. We didn’t want to go early and wait in line for the free ones and then be disappointed if you weren’t able to go see it. Your time is valuable. Lots to see.

The Washington Monument was very interesting. The elevator was broken down but within 15 minutes they had it fixed. Well worth going inside and up to the top. The views are amazing!

If you are like me, you hate Viator and everyone like them for charging you $25 for something you should be entitled to (as a tax-paying American Citizen) for $1. The reality is that we need to take it up with the National Park Service. The system is broken and it needs to be fixed. In the meantime, unfortunately we are stuck in this environment, and the tickets are nearly impossible to get. My wife and I tried several times to get tickets through the Recreation.gov site and they were sold out in mere seconds. I was extremely skeptical about giving my money to Viator under the "no refunds, no cancellations" policy. But when all was said and done, it worked. I even had to change my scheduled time due to a conflict about a week before our trip, and they accommodated it. I paid for 5 tickets, and they showed up attached to an email exactly when they were supposed to (the night before the tour). Even then, I was worried that the tickets wouldn't work, but when they were scanned at the entrance, it worked. My advice if you elect to use Viator is to follow their directions EXACTLY. The vouchers and receipts will not work. The real tickets attached to the email you receive the night before your tour are the only things that count. Follow directions and hopefully you'll be successful like we were. The tour itself was well worth it. The views are awesome from the top and it was a great experience for the whole family. Love them or hate them, Viator will do exactly what they advertise. Hopefully some day it's not that hard to get tickets. But for now, if this is your only solution, go for it. I can attest to the fact that it does work.

It was like hitting the easy button . They got our ticket for us and we had no trouble going up to the top of the monument . The views are incredible .
