This is my personal feeling; I will leave you to your own conclusions. The site is fabulous, wonderful, so you have a choice: either you are in very good physical condition and you follow the fast pace of the guides while keeping energy to appreciate the site, or you are limited and you use the camels for the first part of the route, namely the 7 km; you will then only have to climb the 750 steps and you will be able to enjoy the walk, or you overestimate yourself and you will have to manage the fatigue to the detriment of enjoying the walk. The guides maintain a fast pace and the camel drivers follow as a sweep vehicle with high rates; the goal is certainly to arrive early to then be able to rent blankets at a high price too, and I will spare you the description of the paid toilets available on the route, worthy of a horror movie, so either you endure it or you make the right decisions, even if it means hiring a private guide and doing the climb at your own pace, but do the walk.
