チャルヴァク、チンガン、アミルソイ山へのプライベート日帰り旅行

Bear in mind that this was a last minute booking in the high season. The intention was to have a day away from Tashkent exploring the mountain area. If the tour had matched the descriptor for the trip, it would have been a five star review. The views from the top of the cable car were stunning. The restaurant chosen by the lake was excellent. However there were two issues: both to do with the driver/guide. The first issue was that the driver/guide had limited ability with English. He obviously knew the area and was enthusiastic and he appeared to have a good knowledge, but he didn’t have the vocabulary pronunciation or syntax to communicate - at times using a phone app translator to find words in English. Any information he wanted to impart was limited. The second issue was his driving. Given that there is different driving style in Uzbekistan, allowances must be made, but at times it was reckless and dangerous, sometimes driving with no hands on the steering wheel and using his mobile phone. I asked him to be more careful but this had no effect. He was polite, friendly, obliging and very pleasant and eager to please but I was relieved to be dropped off at the end of the day.

Our guide, Asilbek, arrived on time and communicated with us in good English. Visited all the places that were in the itinerary and he explained the background of each place. Asilbek was polite and patient. He suggested a few stops along the to take in the views and photos. The trip lasted a little over 8 hours. Although it was a hot summer day, the guide kept checking the temperature in the car to mark sure we were comfortable and offered enough drinking water. All the sights were amazing and we enjoyed our day trip.

Christopher was a fantastic guide: knowledgeable, and engaging, despite the intense heat, hottest day ever!!! The view over Bury from the top was impressive as was learning about the social history attached to the brewery. The tasting was fun and informative, and I don’t like beer/lager but now it seems I like IPA. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful landscapes. Our guide Khikmatilloh (John) was an inspiration. It allowed us to see what eastern Uzbekistan has to offer. We really enjoyed our experience.
