An Unforgettable and Authentic Bribri Cultural Experience!
Thanks to Shailo’s deep roots and close relationships with the Bribri community, we had the opportunity to experience their culture in a truly personal and meaningful way. We learned so much about their rich traditions and were able to immerse ourselves in the traditional chocolate-making process while discovering how native plants are used, how baskets are woven, and how stories and knowledge are passed down through generations.
What made this experience so special was the genuine connection Shailo has with the community, which allowed us to gain a deeper appreciation for the Bribri people, their traditions, and their way of life. It felt like so much more than a tour—it was an opportunity to connect, learn, and experience a beautiful culture firsthand.
This was truly an experience unlike any other and one of the highlights of our time in Costa Rica. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

Amazing
Shailo is absolutely amazing! I had so much fun on this tour. I learned more on this tour than any other. I was the only one so I drove with him to and from the farm. He stopped when he saw an animal. This was really an eye opening experience for how the bribri live and respecting the plants. Make sure you ask Shailo if you can try some bribra!

Complete recommendation! Great experience
Shailo is truly an excellent guide. The tour was great. He told us a great deal about both the history of the indigenous population and Costa Rica itself. The atmosphere was very relaxed and he really took a lot of time. The cacao tour was also a great experience and very delicious! We were absolutely thrilled.
On the way home, we even stopped at a place to observe animals. He showed us sloths, toucans, and monkeys and told us a lot about them.

Amazing probe of the life of indigenous people in Bribri
This was one of the best tours that we took during our 3-weeks-long trip to Costa Rica! It has to be stressed that it was not only about chocolate - we were provided a tour in the large garden of the indigenous famili in Bribri and many different plants and their usuage to them were described to us. Moreover, our guide described us the current life of local people in this area and how they prepare for the future... Finally, of course, we have experienced the proces of the chocolate making, as the indigenous people do it till present. Strongly recommended!

Beautiful experience!
Shailo was a pleasure to work with and a beautiful soul. He took care of our group, kept us safe and shared a very precious experience with a local family. Lunch & chocolate making was amazing and we finished with a relaxing waterfall experience. Thank you for everything, Shailo 🙏🏽☺️✨️

A wonderful activity for the whole family
This went far beyond learning about and making chocolate. Shiloh is a such wonderful, warm and knowledgable guide. We loved hearing and talking about the Bribri culture and their use of plants. The Bribri territory is a beautiful, calm place where people, animals and nature live in harmony. The highlight was learning about the cacao plant and making chocolate the traditional way. Interesting visit with an amazing guide
A really great experience to learn a lot about how cocoa is traditionally grown and turned into the chocolate we all know and love, as well as to discover the Bri Bri indigenous culture. Our guide Shailo was amazing and added a lot to the experience. His knowledge as a true local of the area as well as his friendliness made him the perfect guide for this experience. When I think of Pura Vida, I'll think of Shailo!

Simply the best (Shailo)
Shailo our guide was well beyond exceptional and we consider him as our friend now…
Can’t find a better person for any attraction if you are interested in seeing and learning more about the area…
Can not find a words to express myself about Shailo really can’t…anyway if you planning to go on any tours do it with Shailo and nobody else you’re not going to be disappointed believe me…
From the start to the end we felt like going with our long time friend and that was very important to us…knowledge top notch also of course…we usually going anywhere ourselves and this was first time with a guide so we didn’t know what to expect
What a great experience and what a great time !!!!!
We’ll stay in touch that’s for sure

A man with passion and love for nature
I think every one goes to a place hoping for a good experience with a decent guide. Shailo far surpasses this. He offered a great experience and he was a wonderful guide. His energy of love, compassion and positivity radiates from him. I didn’t just enjoy the tour I loved my conversations with my guide, Shailo. If you want an in-depth experience with a guide that truly understands nature, this is your guy. He will teach you about animals and about life and he’ll do it with a warm heart. I hope to return and if I do, I’ll be a returning customer.

Fantastic Guide! Highly recommend!
Amazing experience with Shailo! We had a recommendation from our Airbnb host and reached out to Shiloh to see what tours were possible. We organized a day of cultural tour, visiting a Bribri family and learning about their culture and farming techniques, roasting and grinding cocoa and enjoying a lunch of traditional foods as well as drinking chocolate. Shailo is very personable, and gave us insight into the area as we travelled to the BriBri region. His rate was reasonable and well worth the cost to have a knowledgeable guide who has lived here his entire life. We highly recommend him as a guide.
