Foodies delight
This is a walking food tour. The food was amazing. The guide Maria was very knowledgeable and super friendly and cool. Ferry ride was nice and slow. Coronado was beautiful and picturesque. 4 tastings at 4 different places and they did not disappoint. The carousel was cute and fast. (15mph) We took pictures with it but chose not to ride with full bellies. It was a fabulous experience. She also took pictures for us and made a cute little video for us. She also sent over other information for things to check out during the rest of our stay. Just a wealth of information. I would definitely recommend this tour and when we return again I will be booking other tours with MM Tours.

A five star experience from start to finish
I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Maria on her walking food tour in San Diego! From beginning to end, she was thoughtful, welcoming, and truly delightful. The tour was so much more than just a food tour. We visited and dined at four different restaurants, each offering something unique and delicious. We also enjoyed a round-trip ferry ride to Coronado Island and even had a fun carousel ride at the end. It was such a wonderful combination of food, sightseeing, and memorable experiences.
What really stood out to me was how attentive Maria was even before we met. She contacted me by text ahead of time to ask about any food allergies, which I thought was incredibly considerate. She also provided clear instructions about how to get to the meeting point and where to park if I was driving. Those little details made me feel well taken care of from the very beginning. And guess what! There was an unexpected bonus as Maria took photographs throughout our adventure and afterward sent me a beautiful video montage capturing the day. It was such a thoughtful touch and gave me a wonderful keepsake of an already special experience. Maria is warm, personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about making sure her guests have a fantastic time. I highly recommend her tour to anyone looking for a fun, delicious, and memorable way to experience San Diego. I would absolutely do another tour with Maria!

Mediocre food tour :(
Despite having a very new but passionate local guide, this food tour was a disappointment. For over $100 per person, the food selections were unoriginal, and it felt like nothing special was planned—not even reservations were made for our group. More importantly, the tour description failed to mention a 1-mile walk, which was a physical strain on my 80-year-old mother who has mobility issues. It is definitely not worth the high price tag without significant improvements to the food quality, hospitality, and accessibility transparency.

In three years, this is the first review we’ve received that wasn’t positive, and I’ll be honest — it landed hard, because we pour ourselves into every detail of this experience. We want to respond with care. Every stop we choose is on the waterfront and highly regarded — The Fish Market is a Gold Medallion winner for Best Casual Seafood, and Spiro’s has been repeatedly voted among San Diego’s best Mediterranean. This is a walking food tour along a flat, paved waterfront path, with the distance broken up by four sit-down stops to eat and rest, and we’re always glad to slow the pace for any guest who’d like us to. I’m sorry this didn’t meet the standard our guests have come to expect, we absolutely care tremendously about accommodations, that’s why we always ask in advance about any food allergies, dietary restrictions or mobility issues and make all the necessary adjustments. Again, we are just so saddened to read this.

A Must-Do for Visitors and Locals Alike
If you're looking for a fun way to experience San Diego beyond the typical tourist stops, I highly recommend this food tour! We loved that it combined a beautiful waterfront walking tour with amazing local food and a ferry ride over to Coronado. It felt like getting several experiences wrapped into one.
Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire tour feel personal and relaxed. Along the way we enjoyed delicious tastings from several fantastic local eateries, learned interesting history about the waterfront, stopped for photos at iconic landmarks like the Unconditional Surrender statue, admired the USS Midway and the beautiful yachts in the harbor, rode the historic Coronado carousel, and took in incredible views of the Coronado Bridge and San Diego skyline.
Everything was well organized, the food portions were generous, and the small-group setting made it easy to ask questions and enjoy the experience at a comfortable pace.
I also love supporting woman-owned small businesses, and this tour is a wonderful example of the passion and care that local business owners bring to what they do.
