We were so excited about doing the food tour with Biju, after reading all the reviews. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. We were sent a guide /tuk tuk driver called Asad, who was a nice tuk tuk driver. But that is all he was. He was not a guide, He was certainly not a food tour guide. It seemed like he was not sure where he was going, in the restaurants he had no idea what to order (he asked us! ..) and he did not have anything to say about anything we ate. Not that it really mattered since it was completely pointless, but we barely tasted 4,5 things. We went to 2 restaurants, and 2 stalls, the last one a lemon soda stand. That's all. This was not a food tour, it was a very expensive tuk tuk ride to a few restaurants. Unfortunately, Biju took no responsibility for this, and albeit a 800 rupee discount on our next day's taxi to Munnar, insisted we pay as if there was a tour to pay for. Bottom line, huge disappointment, don't take this tour unless it's with Biju himself.

A good food tour that allowed us to try lots of local food that we would have struggled to find on our own. My only critique is that I think the first avocado shake shop could have been omitted as it filled us up too much and wasn't particularly unique in my opinion.

This food tour was really excellent. The guide told us a lot about the history and culture of the city, and took us to some really nice places for food. He was very accommodating for one of our group who has a lactose allergy, checking with the staff that the food was milk/butter free. I highly recommend this food tour for anyone who is visiting Kochi.

Bijou was a great guide. He took me to local spots for some delicious food, that as a tourist you may not find. Bijou also told me about the local area and tailored the tour to my tastes!

Great tour of local food through Mattancherry by Biju. He's really knowledgeable and he tailored the food to what we wanted. We asked for not too spicy, just as well because even some of those dishes packed a bit of a punch! So many local dishes we had wanted to try but were too nervous to get as street food ourselves, but Biju took us to local trusted places. There was so much food, you definitely need to arrive hungry! Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to sample local food in Kerala.

We loved this food tour - Biju is born and raised in the town and knows everyone. Going on his tour gives you the chance to visit the restaurants like a local - and get treated like a VIP. We started with some fresh drinks (mango and avocado) before taking Biju’s tuk tuk to a nearby vegetarian place. We moved from there to a different restaurant serving different meat dishes and various accompaniments. And ended with a cooling drink at a street side family shop. Traveling as a tourist, you’d never find these places or know how good they were, so getting the personal tour is well worth doing and we’d recommend it to anyone.

We had a fantastic food tour with Biju! We’re used to walking food tours, but this one took us around to different places by tuk tuk (which worked for us, since we’d already walked a lot that day:). The food was great, and Biju was awesome to chat with, giving us so much info and history about Kerala. We learned a lot and left very full. Would definitely recommend!

Biju was great. He’s a lifelong local and gave was a warm and informative guide to be able to experience the diverse cuisine of Kochi. I highly recommend Biju.
