Taiyo was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly - we were very happy we booked this tour. It was a great start to our trip.

Unfortunately, this was the worst guided experience my family and I have ever had. Our guide, Akira, was a very nice and polite guy, but unfortunately, he was an awful tour guide. There were only three of us — me, my husband, and our child — and it honestly felt like because the group was so small, the company simply sent whoever was available rather than an experienced guide. Akira hardly spoke, his English was very limited, and he provided almost no information about Tsukiji Market, its food, history, or culture. Whenever we asked questions, he usually couldn’t answer them. It felt like we were simply walking around the market with someone, not taking a guided “food & culture” tour. I have traveled to 18 countries and regularly book tours and experiences, and I can genuinely say this was the worst one my family has ever had. After the first 15 minutes, I wanted to leave. We stayed hoping it would get better, and I regret that we did. I don’t know what qualifications or training Akira has as a guide, but this experience was nothing like what was advertised. I absolutely would not recommend it.

Shoma was an excellent tour guide and we had a fantastic time experiencing all that Tsukiji Market had to offer. It was a random coincidence that we both attended Rutgers University!!! Everyone should take their tour with Shoma!!

Teru was a really nice tour guide, informative and provided culturally relevant guide for the Tsujiki fish market.

Ken was so wonderful and kind. He made our Japan experience a lot more exciting, as well as informative. Ken was very patient and educational about all of the Japanese culture. If you are in the area, I definitely would recommend him to be your tour guide. Thank you Ken so much!!!

We recently visited a Tokyo street market for a food tasting tour with our guide, Lax, and it was an absolute highlight of our trip. We give it a 10/10 and can only recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Without Lax, we would never have discovered or learned as much on our own. He shared so many fascinating insights about the market, the food, and Japanese culture, making the experience both educational and delicious. His English was excellent, and he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We especially appreciated that he never pressured us to buy or eat anything. Instead, he warmly invited us to try many dishes, making it feel like an exciting culinary adventure rather than a tour. For visitors unfamiliar with Japanese food—and the language—having such a guide makes navigating the market effortless and fun. It was a blast from start to finish, and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, enjoyable taste of Tokyo.

Great tour! Lots of tasting opportunities, so it really helped to have a good guide to point out what was best. Good tour length.
