10/10 recommend this tour. My siblings and I were visiting Japan for the first time, and our guide, Tomoki, introduced us to so many delicious foods. From the very beginning, Tomoki was fun and welcoming, and as a true local, he brought us to the right spots and taught us how to eat traditional foods the right way. He’s also mindful of different food/drink preferences, which is nice for groups who may have picker eaters.

A fabulous tour with a knowledgeable, friendly and helpful guide. Tomoki went above and beyond to ensure we had a unique local experience and was more than happy to answer our barrage of questions. The onokomiyaki was my personal favourite, which I can safely say is one of the best things I've eaten in Japan. We even had some time at the end to try out some of the game arcades in this beautiful and unique area. Could not recommend more - thank you Tomoki for a great evening!

Honestly, this was one of the best tours I have ever had in another country. Tomoki was knowledgeable of not just the food, but the area and all the nuances that make Osaka what it is today. He was also happy to answer any question as well as other things pertaining to Japanese culture, not just attractions or food!

Visited 3 restaurants. One was for okonomiyaki, though I had hoped it would have been cooked in front of us. The takoyaki place. Finally fried skewer place. Alcohol for last 2 places. It was just our adult family of 4. Guide was easy to understand.

I am really happy I booked this food tour with Tomoki! He has a passion for cooking and food and it really showed when he was sharing about the food culture in Osaka. I really liked that he took us to some local eateries where the primary customers were locals. I got to try a lot of different kinds of food and even watched him make us a dish on a grill. We had such a good time that we totally forgot to take any photos or videos of our experience. Tomoki even provided us with recommendations for the foods we wanted to try that were not part of the food tour. We laughed a lot and went home really full so come hungry!

Our guide gave us one of the best experiences. He provided a locals food and drink tasting that provided us with a culinary adventure. Absolutely worth it all.

This tour was one of the top highlights of my trip to Japan. Osaka food culture is unique and the Shinsekai area is special unto itself. Tomoki is an Osaka local who loves food and has a passion for sharing it with others. We visited local spots and ate dishes I would not have tried on my own. For instance, I have eaten Okonomiyaki, but now I know how to mix it and grill it in a restaurant thanks to Tomoki! Really, the special part of the tour was connecting with Tomoki and having great conversation. He answered my questions about Japan tirelessly. He is a gem! There are many types of food to try, so don’t be shy about guiding which dishes are selected. However, do not expect the usual Japanese food you can get anywhere (like sushi, gyoza, ramen, etc). Osaka food has so much more to offer and this tour expanded my food repertoire and love for Japanese culture! Just what I was hoping for.

My partner and I took this tour with our guide, Tomoki. Tomoki is from Osaka and was super knowledgeable about the area and the foods we tried. He took us to 3 different restaurants where we sampled numerous dishes, with enough to feel full by the end, and the food was delicious!! Tomoki was a great guide. He was easy to make conversation with, and he was funny too! I would definitely recommend this tour with Tomoki!
