My family and I booked the Safari Hotel, the Capri Sun room. We really loved the view from the window. We saw a giraffe and zebras—it was incredible. The room was really clean, which was great. But the people at reception knew absolutely nothing about this hotel. I saw other people's indignation too. My husband asked about breakfast at 9 pm, and they told us, "Oh no, you won't be able to have breakfast anymore, even though it's included in the price." There's nothing nearby except food delivery. We were shocked, of course. But I went on the website and was able to book breakfast for us (there were a lot of places). At 9 am, there were almost no people. It's very strange. No one could answer any questions we asked. It was as if everyone was running away. There was one person at reception who talked to one visitor for 30 minutes. We really liked the Theme park , everyone there tried to help and give us advice. But the Tomb Blaster race is not for children! Especially little ones! a very creepy race that, in my opinion, should not be called “Family Explorers” Thank you
We went for my sons 4th birthday and booked the temple room, it wasn't perfect but he had great time. Booked the temple room with a view and the window was filthy. The food is all very standard it's shame the menu is a bit standard even in the main restaurant......I thing the fast pass ticket make the longer ques. I'm a disabled person totally get why some disability will find ques hard. But thinks it needs to be thought out a bit better.
We paid for a package stay at the Aztec Safari hotel. 2 days of tickets and an overnight stay with breakfast. My party contained myself, my husband, my 6 year old and my 2 year old. It was for my children's Birthdays as both are in June. We also joined our visit with friends who also had a 6 year old. The park itself was fine apart from a lot of delays to rides due to the heat. Also the queues for water stations was elevated due to the heat. Our hotel room was fine, however we booked to stay in the hotel due to being able to gain access to the safari in the evening limited to hotel users. After we had experienced what I can only describe as a disaster of a meal at the Zafari bar and grill, we went to walk round the safari and it had already closed. Despite being advertised it would be open til dusk and when we went to ask at reception we were told the zoo closes it when they feel like it and they have nothing to do with it. We were very disappointed as we had been telling our children we would be able to see the animals. The experience of dinner in the Zafari bar and grill was soul destroying. We were seated at 6 and we did not have our order taken for drinks until 30 minutes later. We then waited a further 20 minutes for a single jug of cordial. The wait for food was 40 minutes but we were not told this until we had ordered 50 minutes after first being seated. The manager himself was helpful but I feel he was fighting a losing battle. When our food did eventually come, it was all wrong. Burgers were the wrong types, plus fish served to myself when I am allergic despite me asking for a swap with halloumi. The whole experience was awful and such a shame as we have eaten and stayed here before with no complaints. Breakfast the next morning we had booked the temple restaurant for the ant experience, again this was a disaster. There were broken parts to the Ants, we were seated in the middle no where near them and there were no mugs, glasses or cutlery. The whole experience was very frustrating and although we complained, nothing was explained with valid reasons. Due to this we will not be visiting again and can only give bad reviews. Considering this was booked since January and a surprise for our children, we were incredibly disappointed.
Came today, firstly only 2 food outlets open. Firehouse took order and 25 minutes later told another 20 minute wait, so got round. No huts open at all for food. £7 for 1 slush is also disgusting, the Marshall ride the operator hurt my niece with the bars by continuing to push down on them despite them not being able to go lower, shes crying and screaming, bruised and marked. Absolute I.iot. Giraffes all locked off so walk all the way there and can't see them. Also £15 to parliament on top of your tickets is diabolical, little ones can't really go on anything. But can go on the temple ride which is horrific for them.
0 stars it was horrible. All the rides got cancelled or delayed and we didn't get to go on any of the rides we wanted to go on.The gift shop was to expensive and the lines were too long getting to 2 hours
Very poor value for money. We stayed at the Safari hotel and the themed rooms were tiny and very basic, food selection and choice very poor for the amount of money that we paid. I would recommend visitors staying at the Premier Inn for better value. You don’t get much for staying at the hotel. When it comes to the actual park itself, there are no big cats and they seem to have outsourced their zoo experience to Jimmy’s wildlife park and it is now limited to tiny animals. Not sure it even qualifies to be called a zoo.The only positive thing is the fact that they are quite a few rides for younger children but the queues can be quite long in the summer months. Overall, very poor value for money. You can spend your money much better elsewhere.
First and last time visiting Chessington! We arrived particularly for the much loved new Paw Patrol land, which don’t get me wrong is well thought out, and great for a variety of ages. However the waiting times for the rides were between 60-90 mins. Bare in mind the fact we have come during term time, on a mid week day, so i dread to think how chaotic it is during the school holidays or weekends. The rest of the rides within chessington were no better, the waiting times were absolutely ridiculous. The fact is you could spend 8 hours at chessington, and be lucky to get on 6-8 rides! If you’re looking at a fast pass then don’t bother. You spend nearly as much time queuing as those that don’t have a pass, they clearly over sold the fast pass tickets which doesn’t make paying the extra beneficial. Also they have the cheek to say you cannot use the standard fast pass on any of the paw patrol rides. If you want a fast pass for them, well that’s an additional charge! The food & drinks are extremely overpriced. £10.50 for 3 bottles of water! Avoid the ‘All you can eat’ pizza & pasta place. Just under £24 pp. 4 different pizza options and 1 pasta option. (The pasta was literally plain pasta with a jar of tomato sauce on the top! They also say oh you get unlimited drinks with the price, ha what fools we were. The ‘unlimited’ drinks are warm orange or apple juice, that have been sitting out for hours, no ice in them either. If you want something else, then that’s an additional price. The food was not nice either, luke warm! Be warned there’s also so many hidden ‘extra’s everywhere too. Games etc, that cost an arm & a leg. To top it off, you have to pay £16 for the privilege to park your car on one of their fields. Which is an absolute ball ache to get out off, and no you cannot get out if you haven’t paid for the parking and have a receipt to show them on your exit, if you haven’t paid you just hold the entire car park up instead whilst they make you pay. The whole place is an absolute rip off. Of all the theme parks we have been to, this one was the most chaotic, unorganised and extremely over priced than them all!! Safe to say we won’t be returning anytime soon, if at all. And if you’re looking for a nice decent family trip out, check Paultons park instead, you won’t have to take out a mortgage for that one!
Good place please come now please please please come now
Not nearly as slick or professional as LegoLand. Our second visit on our Merlin Pass, but we won’t come back. The rides are understaffed and the quiet jump pricing must be off, as they were dominating the queues and slowing everyone down, rather than the odd group coming and going. The park is well maintained on the whole, although paved areas could do with some redoing. The climbing area was covered (not an overstatement!) in bird poo, genuine health concern.
What a fantastic family weekend. The rooms were superb with excellent air conditioning and special extra little things for the children. The park it very compact so not too much walking for younger children and the breakfast was lovely too with plenty of choice. The views of the animals from the hotel was lovely and feeding the giraffes was a highlight for all of us. Will be back next year !!!!
