We were rebooked on a different charter due to “lack of staff” but with fuel prices, it may have been that we were the only two signed up and they didn’t want to bring out the boat for just 2 (can’t blame them for that). The following is more of a review for the rebooked charter (Kevin is owner) we were put on, but we didn’t bring any water or snacks as that was described in the original Viator package and it was not provided on the rebooked charter so we went two dives without any hydration or energy refueling. We also felt the owner of the new charter a bit dismissive. We had told them that my wife usually has 12 lbs of weights but was given 8lbs for the first dive, and so they gave her handheld weights. The second dive was 14 lbs, which may have lead to her abnormally fast gas consumption (she actually ran out during the decompression stop). We’ve dove about 15-16 times now, and each time my wife has much more oxygen than I do by the end of the dive. We would not sign up with Ocean Therapy Charter just for the sake of avoiding being rebooked with the other charter again.

On rare occasions, unexpected staffing issues require us to make alternate arrangements rather than cancel a guest's dive altogether. Our intention was to ensure you were still able to enjoy your planned dives while visiting Hawaiʻi. We're sorry to hear that your experience with the substitute operator didn't meet your expectations. While we can't speak to another company's procedures, we understand how disappointing it must have been to find that amenities you expected, such as water and snacks, weren't available and that aspects of the dive setup didn't feel right for your wife. At Ocean Therapy Charters, we pride ourselves on providing a personalized experience aboard our six-passenger boat, with attentive service, properly fitted equipment, refreshments, and the time to ensure every diver is comfortable before entering the water. Guest safety and enjoyment are always our highest priorities. We truly appreciate your understanding regarding the circumstances and hope you'll consider giving us the opportunity to take you diving personally on your next visit to Oʻahu. Our small group of 4 absolutely loved scuba diving with Ocean Therapy Charters! The crew was polite and professional, the boat and equipment were top notch and well maintained, and best of all they guided us through 6 amazing dives over 3 days that offered a variety of different experiences (wreck/deep, reef/shallow, night) and a host of marine life (honu, shark, monk seal, eel, crab, octopus, and LOTS of fish)!
