Do not miss out on this incredible tour - you will learn so much!! We went on this tour yesterday. Our guides were warm , welcoming and looked after us so well throughout the tour.we were collected and returned to our hotel which made the visit so easy fir ys. We were taken to visit a village in the foothills of Mt Meru and learned so much about the way of life of the people who live there. They live in a completely sustainable way - vegetables and fruit planted in every field and corner - the soil climate , river and rainwater all combine to make the farms super productive! We were shown medicinal plants and their use as well as traditional beehives with very rare tiny bees as well as a biogas system using animal waste to fuel cooking - amazing!! One of our guides grows coffee as well and we were shown how the beans are processed in the village situation - we had the help of a very musical group of villagers when the pounding of the beans had to be done - the reward was a delicious cup of coffee! This was a must do activity if you have a day spare in Arusha. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

Wonderful experience that let us savor authentic scents and flavors of Tanzania in a village on the slopes of Mount Meru. Highly recommended, hotel pick-up service and immersive tour of the reality of the Meru community villages for the entire day that is worth much more than a simple coffee and waterfall tour! The tour began with the exploration of the coffee, banana, and vegetable plantations along the hill, rich in vegetation, up to the river that provides water to the village. Praylord made the walk a real master class on the use of herbs also for medicinal purposes, teaching us to recognize them, in addition to explaining every detail of the cultivation of the fruits of his plantation! The morning continued with the spectacular lesson on coffee preparation that we shared with the other members of Praylord's family, which was followed by a beautiful moment in which, while tasting the freshly prepared coffee, our guide told us the story of his family and many anecdotes about Maasai culture. We enjoyed a delicious lunch typical of the village in Praylord's beautiful home (where there is also a B&B), and we tasted various infusions prepared directly by his family. In the afternoon we went to see the waterfalls where there were no other tourists besides us, wonderful! The day ended with a visit to a viewpoint that overlooks the city of Arusha and from which (with a lot of luck) we were also able to see Kilimanjaro. For all those looking for an authentic experience, Praylord and his family welcomed us into their village and made us feel part of their community for a day, and at the moment of saying goodbye we were left with that sense of melancholy, like when you say goodbye to a friend before leaving. We found this excursion by chance and we were hoping to get to know the local culture better and discover the traditions of this wonderful land before starting a safari, we trusted the reviews and now, after having spent this day, we can only recommend it to everyone!

The experience i made with this tour guide were really awesome. He knows his way around Arusha very well. His energy leaves you with a smile and a good feeling. You feel safe when you drive together and you'll have lots of fun!

We really enjoyed the time spent on the tour. It was very informative and personal. It was lovely to get an insight into the lives of the locals, and we felt warmly welcomed. Unfortunately, there was some confusion regarding our TripAdvisor booking—specifically concerning the scope of the tour—since both full and half-tour options are offered but this wasn't clearly communicated on the platform. The tour guides addressed the issue, and we were able to take the full tour after all, which really highlights the local hospitality.

It was very nice I enjoyed the experience

From the time we left our lodge until we returned, we felt we were part of a family! We harvested coffe beans, separated them from their shells, roasted them, ground them and final enjoyed the rich coffee. We then were treated to a fabulous meal and were treated to different beverages including banana beer. We then walked to a beautiful river sampling sweet berries along the path. We then drove to a secluded waterfall that required the help of Calvin and Pamela so that I could descend and ascend safely. Our final adventure was a giant swing! My favorite phrase on this trip was pole pole. (Slowly, slowly)

The day went completely as thought out and planned from beginning to end. The pickup was on time and all guides were super friendly. You learn a lot about nature and also get to know the lives of the locals. I can definitely highly recommend the tour. :)

Really interesting day out. Fascinating to see ‘inside’ a Meru village, learn about their sufficiency and meet so many lovely people. Walking tour of the village, bush-to cup coffee making which was a show in itself, spice tasting and a great lunch completed the time in the village. After that, the Mangalia waterfall was beautiful and the viewpoint equally stunning. Driver Praylord and Guide Kalvin were fantastic throughout. Highly recommended.

This is an absolute must do tour while staying in Arusha! We really enjoyed making the coffee and learning how the Meru Tribe makes their coffee. It was absolutely delicious, as was the farm-to-table lunch they made for us. We also got to taste different teas, honey, hot cocoa, and banana wine. Everything was incredible. The people were so kind and our guide was amazing. Everyone was very nice and we learned a lot on this tour! Would highly recommend.
