地元では「チーナ・ヴァラ」として知られる中国の漁網は、珍しい形態の漁業のために海岸に固定された設備、つまり海岸で操作されるリフトネットです。彼らは主にインドのケーララ州のコーチ周辺で見られます。大きな機械構造物は高さ少なくとも 10 メートルで、海の上に吊り下げられた片持ち梁のネットと、反対側の釣り合いおもりとしてロープから吊り下げられた大きな石で構成されています。これらの各建造物は、最大 6 人の漁師からなるチームによって運営されます。

インドにある 8 つの大聖堂の中で、フォート コチにあるサンタ クルス大聖堂は、インドで最も壮大で印象的な大聖堂の 1 つです。この教会は、「聖十字架の発明」の祝日である 1505 年 5 月 3 日に設立されたため、サンタ クルスと呼ばれています。教会の建設中にかなりの量の取り壊しと再建が行われました。
植民地時代の影響をほのめかしたケーララ建築の代表的なものの 1 つは、オランダ宮殿とも呼ばれるマッタンチェリ宮殿です。 高知王朝のヴィーラ ケララ ヴェルマ王への贈り物として、西暦 1545 年にポルトガル人によって建設されました。オランダ人による大規模な修復を経て、オランダ宮殿として知られるようになりました。 この 2 階建ての宮殿は、美しい壁画のコレクションで飾られています。
ユダヤ人街の静かな場所に位置するパラデシ シナゴーグは 1 世紀以上前に遡り、数多くの珍しい骨董品が収蔵されています。ユダヤ人が初めてケーララ州との関係を確立してからほぼ 1500 年後、1568 年にユダヤ人のシナゴーグが建設されました。このシナゴーグは、マッタンチェリ宮殿の隣にある、コーチンの旧統治者から寄付された敷地に建てられました。
伝統的な建物とスパイスの香りが漂う高知のスパイス市場は、過ぎ去った時代を思い出させます。
高知のジャイナ教コミュニティの礼拝所。この寺院は、毎日正午に行われるハトに餌を与える儀式で有名です。
