We had an exceptional private guided tour of Marrakech with Brahim from Amayyur and we cannot recommend him highly enough. From the outset, Brahim was professional, punctual, extremely well organised, friendly and accommodating. He gave us a fascinating and comprehensive insight into Moroccan history, culture and everyday life, which was a real eye-opener and added enormously to our understanding and enjoyment of Marrakech. Our tour took us from the Koutoubia Mosque through the historic Mellah/Jewish Quarter and Bahia Palace, then into the Medina lanes, artisan areas and souks, before finishing at Jemaa el-Fnaa. Along the way, Brahim brought each area to life with stories, historical context and explanations of local customs and culture. What really stood out, however, was his willingness to go above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble. He was very easy-going, happy to answer all our questions and adapted the tour around our interests. He spent considerably more time with us than we expected, accommodated our special requests and never once made us feel rushed. He also helped us when we wanted to buy a particular item, using his local knowledge to help us secure a great deal, which was an unexpected and much-appreciated bonus. What could easily have been simply a tour of the main sights became a much richer introduction to Marrakech and Morocco. Brahim combined excellent knowledge with warmth, patience and genuine enthusiasm, and it felt much more personal than a standard guided tour. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, trustworthy and genuinely engaging guide in Marrakech, we would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Brahimr. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bahia Palace, El Badi Palace ruins and the Souk. Amayyur is a history scholar and gave a detailed and fascinating explanation of the development of North Africa through the centuries. His guided tour through the Souk was excellent.
