Our tour today with John was exceptional we could not be happier. John is a kind, sensitive, intelligent young man who is an absolute gentleman. His knowledge of his town, culture and life in Hoi An and Vietnam is incredible. He is so interesting to listen to and learn from. We very much enjoyed seeing how the locals live and work and enjoyed having a go at all the different activities. We will definitely be coming back and using John as our guide again, we could not recommend him more highly.

Wonderful guide, very nice and helpful with our tour on the scooter. Had a lot of information about the people and their way of life, showed exactly what we had hoped for. Went with my family (3 persons) and we were all incredibly happy with the tour. Experience a 10/10 for sure, in depth explanation about how products were made such as lanterns and rice paper, and we were very happy and bought a few selfmade lanterns in Hoi An, on top of that great landscape of more rural places and must sees! Price - Quality 10/10, would recommend this guide for a pleasant time!

John was super helpful and informative with a happy personality and great English. Nothing felt rushed, we learnt new things and our questions were answered. The scooter tour was a fantastic way to see the countryside around Hoian, and John was a brilliant host.

This was a well organised tour seeing some authentic Vietnamese crafts that have been integral to local life for generations and sadly some of which will no longer be there in the future as some of the skilled village workers take-up retirement. This tour tends to be sold as a scooter/car based experience but John Lee was happy to modify to a bicycle tour format allowing some wonderful additions to the standard itinerary. Ultimately our tour was fascinating and lots of fun and because it was so good, for our next holiday to Hoi An, we will be asking John to organise a tour to other local craft villages showcasing different traditional skills using his "Tailor-Made Tours" service. In closing, John Lee Tours has been such a good find for us!

The day we went to the tour was a rainy day, but John customised the tour for us and entertained us through the day. He took us to the old cultural villages and let us try some activities including rice noodle making. Surprisingly, my husband loved fresh rice noodles! Basket boat was super fun even in the rain, and I loved the coffee from the coffee roaster - John remembered that we mentioned coffee when we spoken to him before booking. Especially, if you don't have many days in Hoi An but want to maximise your experience, I definitely recommend John. ツアーのガイドは英語ですが、ジョンの英語は聞き取りやすくとても分かりやすく説明してくれます。限られた時間のなかでホイアンの地元グルメ、コーヒーとローカルアクティビティを楽しみたい方に是非お勧めします。

The tour was fantastic, seeing the local life in Hoi An and how all of the local products are made was amazing. I particularly loved that they let us try our hand at working the crafts that the locals were doing.

Great tour with a top guide! John is a wonderful local guide with a lot of knowledge and makes the tour very interesting and fun! You definitely should do this! We had a fantastic time on the back of the motorbike in the rain! 😍

Great Experience with John! We went in October 2025 with family (2 kids of 5 and 8 years old) on two tours in the surroundings of Hoi An: first day fishing and coconut forest, second day cycling. The experiences are fun but the best is how John is good at connecting with kids and entertaining them. Everything feels very safe and spontaneous. Thanks John

We had the most amazing evening on our walking food tour with Hoang! He’s an absolute wealth of knowledge and such a wonderful person to be around. You simply wouldn’t discover the best local food spots without a guide like him to navigate the hidden back streets. We enjoyed five delicious food stops — each one offering something different and truly authentic. The walk through the bustling night markets was full of colour and energy, and to finish the evening, a peaceful boat cruise where we made wishes and released lanterns on the river — such a beautiful, memorable experience. If you’re visiting, don’t miss this tour. Hoang made it unforgettable!
