I joined this Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya tour in Tokyo in the winter of 2025 with my sun who also loves manga. As fans of Jujutsu Kaisen, we were excited to see the real Shibuya locations that inspired scenes from the Shibuya Incident arc. During the tour, we visited several places that appear in the manga, including Cisco Slope and even the underground passage that appear in the story. Seeing these locations in real life made the experience very special for anime fans. Kyoko also guided us through several hidden Shibuya spots, including small back streets that most visitors would never notice. Kyoko has an impressive knowledge of Japanese anime, from classic titles to the newest series, and she is a wonderful person to talk with if you enjoy anime culture. One of the most interesting parts of the tour was her cultural explanation of Shinto beliefs. Through her explanation, I learned for the first time how traditional Japanese spiritual concepts such as purity and impurity influence stories like Jujutsu Kaisen. Shibuya is usually known as a busy entertainment district, but this tour helped me see it as a place connected to history, culture, and spirituality. I was also searching for a collectible item, and Kyoko introduced several local shops that most visitors would never notice. Thanks to her, I was able to find some favorite items to take home.
