We texted in the morning for a meeting time and Hugo was at the main gate outside waiting for us! He assured us, we had as much time as we needed, and he would be mindful of our Cruise departure. We loaded up into his van, and off we went...to the amber museum, a stroll down Umbrella Street, chocolate tastings, shopping at their local "wallmart", a fantastic caribbean beachside lunch ( I tried momofungo!) mountain top views, and the best company with Hugo. We enjoyed our day together!
The only thing to be mindful of, 6 people max for his van, if u have 7, that person will be sitting on a stool in the middle, so its not so comfortable. Also, meeting point is outside the main gate, so if u have seniors, its like a 10-15 minutes walk from ship to gate. The 3rd party tours are not allowed to drive inside. You will have to walk it.

Ride with Hugo
I just want to say, Tours and Transfers by Hugo was 20stars. He meet us at the gate, after we got off the ship. We were an easy couple took us to see 3 spots then to lunch @ Puerto Plata Restaurant which was so good. The price was great. The conversation with Hugo were funny and well know about the area telling us different things. Hugo Thank You so much!! You made our trip so much fun. You wife and beautiful little girl are very lucky.

A tailor-made private tour!
I recommend this tour with Hugo! He has been a very accommodating guide and does the tours according to tastes/needs. Super patient, super flexible and with an excellent layout! Brought us in time to take our cruise back!! Thanks Hugo for everything!!!

Best Way to See Puerto Plata
"Hugo is a gem! He took us to the Umbrella Street, the Pink Alley, and the Rum Factory. It felt like touring with a local friend rather than a big bus company. We escaped the crowds from Taino Bay and had a personalized experience at our own pace. The 'Back-to-Ship' guarantee gave us total peace of mind. Highly recommended!"

First time there and it’s amazing 10/10!!
Mr.Hugo is the best guide in puerto plata! Me and my family visited for the first time by cruise, and Hugo showed us all of the city and so much more, it’s definitely an unforgettable unique experience.
