Interactive and takes you through a good amount off the east side. Puzzles change and aren’t the same and it makes you search around.
We had fun with the game! We were a family group of five adults and everyone could solve the puzzles. The hardest ones for us were the first two, it just took us a bit to get into the thought process. The variety of puzzles was excellent and the walking distance covered was just right. We have done other tabletop mystery kits, letterboxing, and geocaching. My family had talked about wanting to do an escape room sometime, but I was much happier to find an outdoor version! It was fun to have a different way to experience Central Park, we have been there many times. It made us look more closely at things we have walked right past before. At one of the stops we saw another group with the box solving the puzzle too- it looked like they were having a good time! I would definitely play one of your adventure games again!
We loved this box and greatly enjoyed it with our family (13M, 32F, 33M, 50M, 48F). We particularly enjoyed the final puzzle, which had some fun integration of the clues, storyline, and physical environment. We would absolutely do this again and recommend it to others for other cities!
The story was fun and interactive. As native New Yorkers, we didn’t expect to learn so much about Central Park. Even our teenaged sons enjoyed this experience!
We had a great time, and felt really challenged! This was a gift to us. We were interested in scavenger hunts and were so excited to test ourselves. Our favorite part was traveling to different spots that we have not been before. It really gave us a sense of Central Park even though we've been living here for 2+ years. Thank you!
This was awesome! Especially being in NY for the first time. The concept and the idea behind this game was very brilliant. It wasn’t too difficult and it wasn’t too easy. The only thing I’d say is be prepared to do a lot of walking 😂
Leaving a review isn’t enough to describe how amazing this escape room adventure was! You have to experience it for yourself and if you like adventure and solving puzzles! Believe me, you will enjoy this! The persons/person that created this game did an amazing job. My first time in NY so it was my first time in Central Park. The game made it 3x better
We had a great time going through Central Park! Having done a good number of indoor escape rooms, we found the puzzles themselves slightly on easy side (though very fair and fun, and you don't want to be spending a lot of time on any one of them as it is, since part of the fun is walking through the park). What we truly loved was finding and linking the puzzles to real-world clues -- those were extremely well-done and very clever.
Super fun and unique experience! It's a really cool story woven in some key central park icons. Great for folks new to Central Park, but honestly even better for locals that visit often!! We got rained on halfway but took some shelter in Bethesda Terrace, it was a super memorable summer New York experience!
This was our second Escapely experience (we had previously played the Boston game) and we had a blast. The game is perfectly themed and takes great advantage of the Central Park environment. We all had different levels of familiarity with Central Park, from first timers to frequent visitors, and even the frequent visitors saw things in the park they hadn’t experienced before. The puzzles provide the right amount of challenge to make you think but also to keep the game moving forward. We have had so much fun with the Escapely games we can’t wait to experience new cities through their lens. While the Central Park game capitalized on the unique theming native to the park, one thing to watch out for (and I applaud Escapely for highlighting this on their website) is some cities use the same game and similar puzzles. We will be in San Diego next month and noticed the warning that it is the same underlying story as other spyhunter games which included the Boston game we had already played. Over time it would be great if they could find more ways to tailor each game to the city similar to the Central Park game (Boston could utilize more of the Italian heritage of the north end and even use a Whitey Bulger type mob theme which would be more authentic than the spyhunter theme, which was a lot of fun but more generic).
