Our guide made us feel taken care of and made sure to get beautiful pictures and videos. Company was very communicative before pick up. That is probably the highlight of booking with Charisma. The tour was shorter than expected and took a while to get started while filling the boat. May be better to negotiate a sunset cruise on the beach!
Outstanding experience from pickup at my hotel to drop off at the end of the night. An authentic experience with amazing songs and spectacular views. Kateeb did everybody from assist in embarking, to raising/lowering the sail, to bring the first to jump in the water. I highly recommend. Asante 🙏
The ride was supposed to be for 4 hours, it was 1h long. The boat was extremely full. The refreshments were 0/10. There was hardly any seasonal fruit. However, the people on the boat were nice and festive. They made the ride fun.

Very accommodating to help with questions or issues with joining the boat. Of course it is Ramadan and to respect the local culture there are no drums or music so go another time if this doesn’t suit you. For us it was peaceful and low season so not cramped. Even if it were I wouldn’t complain considering these boats are part of Zanzibar’s history and carried far more human trade during the 19th century so would ponder on that instead.
DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR! If you see a boat named “mama Mia” cancel it immediately! Unless you want the most disappointing, boring, lacklustre sunset cruise. Boring entertainment, NO ALCOHOL, the smallest speaker you can think of as “entertainment”. I paid DOUBLE what most people paid, DO NOT PAY MORE THAN $15, negotiate with the guys on the beach and don’t book this tour on trip advisor. Of course unless you enjoy disappointment. Going to email trip advisor to remove this tour. ❌mamma Mia❌
This was fun! What an experience! Started out with about 15 on the boat, but more and more boats came and loaded more passengers on. Had close to 100 when all was said and done.

Accommodating to get additional passengers on board (ie small motors were continually joining us to drop off passengers for the cruise). We had between 40 and 50 on board and all cramped. The cruise itself was much less than 2hrs and we were back before sunset (though in fairness it was overcast). Refreshments consisted of pineapple and watermelon and some form of crisps.
We set off under motor from MamaMia’s at Nungwi Beach. The crew were accommodating and had offered to pick us up at our accommodation which was a 20min walk further to the south on Kendwa beach. We waited about 20-30mins after the departure time, which for us was 1600, for a few more passengers to fill the boat before setting off with a total of between 40-50 persons onboard which made it a little too cosy for comfort. Live traditional music was played in sessions during the trip accompanied by fresh fruit, alcoholic beverages were offered at a cost. Once away from the beaches, the Dohw’s sail, which had a few holes, was hoisted and we sailed parallel with the coast for about 20 mins before turning back under sail affording views of the sunset from both sides and also, the skyline of the West coast of Zanzibar. The captain then offered a drop off at Kendwa beach which due to the size of the vessel, involved getting a little wet although the crew were helpful.
