An unbelievable experience, the sea can be very rough so you should take medicine in advance if you are prone to sea sickness, but the destination was absolutely worth it.

CANCELLATION BY OPERATOR WITHOUT NOTICE
BEWARE - CANCELLATION BY BOAT OPERATOR WITHOUT NOTICE - Booked trip for 2 from Tahiti to Tetiaroa for 8/20/26. Arrived at 5:20AM at 5:45 meeting point for 6:00AM departure. No one from PoeCharter showed up. With help of a French speaking passerby, we finally, after 4 tries, got someone to answer the phone. The canceled the cruise, alleging bad weather on a beautiful calm day, WITHOUT THE COURTESY TO CALL, TEXT, OR EMAIL. Called Viator, who promptly refunded cruise cost; but, since PoeCharter was not courteous enough to notify us, WE ARE OUT APPROXIMATELY $50 ROUNDTRIP CAB FARE FROM HOTEL AND RETURN; AND, HAD TO WAKE UP AT 3:45AM FOR NOTHING BUT AGGRAVATION/DISAPPOINTMENT.

We fully understand this group’s disappointment. They had booked a brand-new Lagoon 43 which, due to an unexpected delay in its delivery by the shipyard, could not be made available for their charter.
This situation was beyond our control, but we nevertheless proposed an alternative catamaran so that their holiday could still go ahead. The group chose to refuse this replacement. Their booking has since been refunded in full.
What is not acceptable, however, is the coordinated campaign that followed. Several members of the same group posted multiple one-star reviews about this single booking, using accusations such as “scam”, “fraud” and “theft”. This creates the misleading impression that several unrelated customers experienced separate incidents, when all these reviews concern the same cancelled charter.
Poe Charter is a genuine, established charter company operating in French Polynesia since 2008, with a real fleet, a local team and many years of activity. A delayed delivery of a new boat is regrettable, but it is neither fraud nor proof that a company does not exist.
We sincerely regret that we could not provide the exact new catamaran originally booked, and we understand the group’s frustration. However, presenting an unforeseen delivery delay—after an alternative was offered and the booking was fully refunded—as a deliberate scam is both inaccurate and unfair.

Great day trip
Great day all around. Breakfast, lunch & afternoon snacks were all great. The boat was comfortable & didn't feel overcrowded despite there being over 40 people onnoard. Tetiaroa was beautiful & snorkeling after lunch was so much fun. We saw sharks, turtles & lots of fish.

Meh! Aside from this superb scenery, it must be pointed out that it is almost dangerous to cross the reef by zodiac and that the 1km walk on coral is not specified anywhere, so it is to be avoided with very young children and elderly people.
Disinterested but friendly crew, but we ate well and there was everything we needed.

Tetiaroa Excursion
This excursion was perfect. The staff on board the Mokai took great care of us from start to finish; thank you again, Poe charter, for introducing me to Tetiaroa in such a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this excursion with Poe charter.

Canceled without advance notice!
We went to the meeting area right on time at 5:45am for the 6:00am departure and waited until 6:30am. There were a total of 7 people waiting, and finally, at around 6:30am the tour company's phone was answered. We were then informed that the tour was canceled ostensibly because of weather. However, the weather could not have been better. We think it was canceled because it was a holiday. Unfortunately, no advance warning was given. Not happy!

Disappointing performance, both by the provider and the place to visit. You can go your way.
Average performance. Nice crew but it is not a profession (lack of explanations, anecdotes, etc...) Simple meal on board but which could have been much superior (rice and raw/cooked fish; we have already seen better), not to mention the lukewarm fruits that were offered to us in the morning but not at lunch...
The atoll is very beautiful but it’s as well elsewhere, see better (Maupiti, Tikehau, etc...)
As for the bird island, whose myriad birds are superb, it is possible to go around but alone (without accompaniment or explanation).
In short, disappointed with this benefit, which is not given, I advise against it.

Magical excursion
Beautiful day trip to Tetiaora. We were welcomed and served by a charming, competent and helpful team, on a magnificent boat. it was an enchantment at all levels with bonus, an excellent buffet.

You really have to go around Bird Island. Walking in the lagoon.
