Emory (Em) was incredibly talented guide. Extremely knowledgeable about food, history, and Hanoi culture. She took me to some incredible food spots, and some hidden gems. I felt like a local eating with a friend rather than on a guided tour. Would recommend for anyone looking to have a fun cultural experience and see the real side of Hanoi. 10/10! I highly recommend booking with her. I will likely do this again next time in Vietnam.
He did a great job of explaining each thing about the food and he was helpful with our random questions about Hanoi. We had good conversations and he was very professional. Even though it was mid day and super hot, we had a great time.
We had such a lovely experience with Emory! She was kind, knowledgeable and brought us to really unique and delicious places! Couldn’t recommend her enough!
My guide was Kevin who communicated quickly and gave clear instructions on where and when to meet. At each location he gave me the background of the dishes and cultural tips on foods at breakfast, snacks and dinner. The choices were fabulous and walking around between locations was easy. The train street location was a good choice and the best side of the track for train safety. Kevin also gave some other recommendations for the next day lunch. An enjoyable evening to experience local foods and culture.

What a fantastic way to experience Hanoi! Marcus Nguyen was an excellent guide — knowledgeable, friendly, organised and, most importantly, just a really great person to spend a few hours with. Marcus took me to some fantastic local food spots and introduced me to dishes I probably wouldn’t have found on my own. But what made the tour stand out was that it wasn’t just about the food. He shared interesting stories about Hanoi’s history, culture and neighbourhoods, which gave me a much better understanding of the city. He was incredibly efficient without making the tour feel rushed. I had plenty of time to stop, look around, explore and take photos whenever something caught my attention. And somewhere along the way, Marcus went from being my tour guide to my unofficial photographer! 😂 He was more than happy to take photos and even had great suggestions for places to see and things to try. He clearly knows Hanoi, knows his food and knows how to make a visitor feel comfortable and welcome. I had a genuinely fun afternoon and got to experience a side of Hanoi I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. Highly recommend this tour — come for the food, stay for the stories, and hopefully you get a guide as much of a vibe as Marcus! 😊🇻🇳
Marcus took me on his scooter and showed me some excellent authentic restaurant. I tasted different kind of local cuisine and it was well guided throughout the tour. I really recommend this to everyone.
Me and Emory had a great time as she showed me all the off the beaten track places to go, all the food was amazing that I tried. In the end it was just the 2 of us but that worked out in my favour as she was able to tailor it to my liking. Well worth the time if you want to experience true Vietnamese food.
The tour guide, Emory, is an excellent guide who really spent not only quality time with me but also shared about the history and local perspective of interesting locations. I was fortunate to be the only guest and was able to learn a lot of Vietnamese culture and the local knowledge of Hanoi. The food tasting was fabulous in particular the local food was authentic and tasty. I told Emory that the tour has met all my objectives and expectations of the days. I would rate her 5 out of 5 of her performance.
