金山嶺万里の長城は河北省承徳市瀘平県に位置し、金山山脈に沿って約10.5キロメートルにわたっている17。 北京の北西130キロメートルに位置し、北京と河北省の境界となっている7。 万里の長城のこの区画は、当初、明代（1368–1644年）に軍師斉吉光の下で建設され、彼は防御能力を高めるために大規模な改修を監督しました7。 その戦略的重要性は、北方の侵略から北京を守る役割に由来していた。

The tour is self guided, which is why I chose this particular visit. The views are amazing and there are less tourists, you are given around 5-6 hours to explore the wall before you return to your destination. I would highly recommend this if you want to explore by yourselves, however, it’s challenging, more than other sections of the wall so if you have any disabilities or joint problems you might want to consider your options.
The busdriver was the best, thanks for driving us safely through the mad Beijing traffic ! The organisation was clear and good. The wall was amazing 🥳👍🥳👍
The booking included transport to and from the wall, approx 5.5hrs of time at the wall. Would recommend walking both “sides” of the wall from the point from which you the enter. There are stalls inside many of the watchtowers, selling snacks, drinks and souvenirs. There are lots of shops/ cafes near the wall so you can get a late lunch after you’ve finished at the wall itself. We struggled to find the pickup location in Beijing, it is INSIDE the bus terminal building, NOT OUTSIDE. The bus journey is approx 2hrs each way, if there are no traffic or security stops. Would recommend.
