It was a great tour and Nelson was a great tour guide. The town of Gang Keng was my favorite. It was very much like Kyoto in Japan. There was a lot of walking so make sure you have comfortable shoes on!
Day trip to Shenzhen from Hong Kong was terrific. Nelson was a fantastic guide. He met us in Hong Kong guided us through Chinese immigration (we were glad he was there to help!) and gave us a comprehensive all day tour. We had a driver in Shenzhen who knew his way around the city. We had a very nice lunch in and upscale Chinese restaurant. At the end of the day, we took the train back to Hong Kong ( we took a bus to Shenzhen), cleared immigration in Hong Kong. It was certainly no fault of Nelson, but immigration to enter China took over an hour as we waited for our visas to be processed. Other the that the day was interesting, fun and tiring!! I highly recommend taking this tour with Nelson
Fantastic trip!! Loved the contrasting experiences of the new and old Shenzhen. Nelson our guide was really knowledgeable and gave us lots of good information. Our driver was great. Would highly recommend this trip.

Here you can see that China is miles ahead. In terms of mobility and efficiency. By express train: not fascinating but fast. And, uh, show your passport all day. On the border of Hong Kong and Shenzhen. And for the train. Walking should be your hobby. Because you can and should do that endlessly here and in Hong Kong.
Our guide Nelson was excellent. He gave us an informative & interesting full day tour of Shenzhen. His English was excellent, he was very knowledgeable on many topics and generous with his time. We enjoyed the wide variety of places visited. Lunch was really delicious and gave us an opportunity to try many local dishes selected by Nelson. I would highly recommend Nelson and this tour as way to visit the fourth largest city in China on a convenient full day tour from Hong Kong.
The visa process at the border was long and tedious. However, once we got approved the tour with Nelson was wonderful. We enjoyed seeing the modern side of Shenzhen and the beautiful Ping An building. My favorite tour was Old Town especially seeing all the beautiful blooms of the spring flowers.
We liked it a lot. It is quite intensive for old people :). We would prefer lunch as a streetfood on the market rather than fancy restaurant, but I understand that it was safer.
The toot was really good and the guide gave us a lot of insights about the city and the life in China. He also was very flexible when we wanted more time in the museum and gave us more time. I would definitely recommend the tour.
