My husband and I went on this food tour the day before we left SMA. We also did a walking historical tour a few days earlier. One of these tours would’ve been enough. Our guide, Vail Kristina, was very knowledgeable and provided many interesting facts about SMA. The food on this tour was fine, but just not very memorable like other food tours we’ve taken. The enchiladas mineras was the best dish in my opinion. The sudden rain storm prevented us from making it to our dessert section of the tour, but our guide quickly came up with a back-up plan. Our group was super flexible about that. All in all, it’s a good tour to book, but go within the first few days of your trip,

Excellent way to see the city, learn more about its history and try some excellent food! Tried some things I probably would not have ordered otherwise and loved it all. Omar was a fantastic guide and so knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Hi! Traveled to San Miguel de Allende for a wedding. Got here a couple dates early to explore the city! Let me just say, first full day here and my boyfriend and I decided to take a “Downtown Food Tour!” It was the best experiences that we have gone on! Our guide was SAM! Hands down the best! Super knowledgeable when it came to history, food, and just all kinds of city tips from places to go after the tour is done! Literally any questions I had, he knew it! So great and Beyond resourceful! Let me say, we had 5 stops of dishes (won’t spoil it for you)… you will remember all the names to go back for seconds! He was just simply great all around and super kind! Highly recommended if you take this tour and hope you get to be guided by Sam! You can go with anyone like you can go with family, friends, etc!

We did a private Original Downtown tour with Vail Kristina. She was fantastic at teaching us about the history and culture of San Miguel. As a former teacher, she kept our 9- and 10-year-old daughters fully engaged, and even brought copies of her bilingual picture books to read to them. The food was delicious and a great way to learn about food traditions of central Mexico.

My husband and I spent a fabulous afternoon with guide, Omar. His knowledge of the cultural and food history of Mexico and San Miguel de Allende up through Mexico's cuisine being UNESCO listed in 2010 was very thorough. He was entertaining as well as informative. We enjoyed the entire time we spent with Omar and walked away with much more knowledge than we could have hoped. Thank you, Omar! Robin and Laura

I was the only one on the tour and Jessica was kind enough to take me around and introduce me to San Miguel‘s delicacies. Jessica is an absolute doll! She’s kind, knowledgeable, and fun to hang out with for a couple hours. I highly recommend this tour

Interesting history of the city and the people. Good variety of food to sample. We loved the final entree of tostadas

We had a great time with Elisa and the other participants. There were 10 of us and Elisa made sure we all knew each other by the end of the tour. It was not only a food tour, but a historical education as well. Fun time.

We wanted to love this so much, and I’m not the type to leave many reviews but unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience. We were very excited due to all of the amazing reviews however our guide seemed disconnected and unpresent/on his phone. Some of his responses to his questions were vague and very non-chalant and disclosed he didn’t have much sleep all night. Some history parts were definitely interesting however. Then, as a foodie paying for a food tour, the food did not meet expectations. We both love street food and are very familiar with Mexican cuisine and the choices of restaurants felt very substandard for the city. All in all we appreciated parts of the history however we did not feel this was worth the price.
