I was fortunate enough to be able to book this tour last minute as many other companies canceled because of the world cup. This was such a well planned day and really enjoyed the company of the guide Benji. He was knowledgeable on so many levels, but also personable and was able to slightly alter the tour to my preference. We started the day at a really lovely family run Bistro in town and the owner was so hospitable. The food and beverages are excellent and I highly recommend going early to enjoy something there. I was then picked up by the guide Benji and we departed on a long drive to get to our first destination. The drive was 2 hours but it went quickly as Benji is super personable and knowledgeable about the area and provided a lot of information along the way. His English was perfect and appreciated the ease of communication. We arrived at the tequila factory which was absolutely breathtaking. The agave fields are picturesque and the grounds are immaculately maintained. It looked like a beautiful destination for a wedding or high-end event. We learned about the tequila making process, the family and history of that particular factory, and then got to horsebackride on the trails on the grounds. The horses were calm and lovely. There were also free roaming horses that joined us on parts of the walk, a mother and baby foal that were so beautiful to see. There was an option to do a tequila tasting- but for me, I am not a big day drinker, so instead, we then headed to the nearby town to see the church (which was a spectacular sight). There we learned of some history and had a chance to eat. The church really surprised me by how beautiful and stately it was. I was not expecting to see such an impressive monument. I was the only on of the tour and felt very privileged that the host did not cancel because it was a smaller group and that he took the entire day to show me the site's and teach me the history. I would highly recommend this tour for any horse lovers (beginners as well as more advanced), anyone interested in unique history and historic sites, as well as anyone interested in seeing a unique tequila factory that isn't as mainstream and trying something you probably won't ever get the chance to again.
Accommodating, kind, knowledgeable & fun! Arturo was a great host. He went above and beyond to make sure all of us could have the best experience. It all felt very personal and private. Definitely a good tour that isn’t too strenuous if you’re traveling with an older group but also fun for a younger crowd. 10/10! ⭐️
We enjoyed a highly personal and authentic experience ! It was deeply educational about the tequila making process, and you got to go deep within the factory to see all the machines. The horse ride was on the beautiful grounds surrounding the factory, followed by the tequila tasting, then the best tacos for lunch in the nearby town. The group was small but we all left as friends, and shared plenty of laughs! Highly recommend this tour.
I loved the experience in Arandas, the super nice place and horseback riding wow I highly recommend it!, our guide super good vibe:)
This experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The tequila tour was fascinating, and Benji was incredibly knowledgeable about both the tequila making process and the history of the area. The horseback riding added a fun and scenic adventure to the day, making it even more memorable. To top it all off, we finished with the best carnitas I’ve ever had...truly the perfect ending. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an authentic, well-rounded experience.
It was a lot of fun, Edgar made us feel very comfortable, safe, trip with a great friend and we loved the tour, we learned a lot about how they make tequila, we spent a pleasant afternoon on horseback riding and the place to eat the super-rich roast meat 🥰
It was a very nice experience! It fulfills all that it announces, because you know the process for tequila, tasting and horseback riding. The guide is very friendly and always explains everything you need. Just keep in mind that it is an approx 1.5-2.0 hour journey outbound and another just as return, but the realm time is worth it.
100% recommended tour. The tequila factory is very nice, the interesting tequila process and horseback riding is something that complements the ride very well. Edgar was very friendly and fun all the time, it really felt like going with a friend.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!! Excellent host, the walk is complete, as advertised, informative, fun, wonderful views during the transfer, perfect duration, the visit to the factory very well carried and the tasting a whole learning. We have done several tours of wines and tequila and we liked this one very much! It is very worth knowing the location and the village and make the ride as a different walk. We enjoyed it very much, FULLY RECOMMENDED!
Arturo went above and beyond to accommodate me for this tour. I was the only one to book, and 2 people were needed for the tour to take place. Instead of cancelling my tour, or asking me to pay for an extra person (which I offered in advance), he still took me. The trip to Arandas took about two hours from my hotel. Once we got into the tequila factory (Camarena), he explained the history of the factory , and the process of making the tequila. Afterwards, we headed to the barn inside the factory, where a horse was ready for me to ride. Instead of riding in the fields, I got to ride in the arena instead, which was perfect for me. I got to ride for about 30 minutes, and trot and canter as well. I felt bad that Arturo didn't ride with me, but he happily watched while I enjoyed my ride. After the ride, we were supposed to do lunch downtown, but knowing he had a busy schedule, we agreed to go directly back to my hotel. Once we reached my hotel, he let me sample some of the tequila from the bottles he had from the factory. It was delicious! I felt very guilty as he had to change some schedules to accommodate me. Yet, he still took the time to pick me up from the hotel, take me to the factory, give me a nice tour, ride the horse, and let me sample the tequilas back to my hotel. While the tour was quick and a bit rushed, I did exactly what I wanted and got back to my hotel early to relax as well. While it took 2 hours each way, the drive was very nice and we enjoyed the American music while talking to each other on the way. He let me spend as much time on the horse, but I wanted to be respectful of his very busy schedule, as well make sure I wasn't overworking the horse. Arturo does an amazing job taking care of his guests and explaining the factory and history. It's a must do when visiting Guadalajara, especially if you enjoy tequila and horseback riding.
