Very busy day with our super guide, Wai. He met and exceeded our expectations, making our day in Kyoto very special. We were the only participants in the tour. We had been asked what we wanted to do and we said shopping, sushi and the major points in Kyoto. Wai did not fail. For a very far price we had a full day, with lots of walking and were treated to a memorable experience in Kyoto. Wai was the difference!

Wonderfully large shrines next to cute little shops
Wonderfully large shrines, temples, along side cute little shops. Kyoto was a lot more spread out than we realized. Glad we had a guide to lead and even grabbed us taxis easily when we needed one. Be prepared for walking from area to area, and unless you are a strong walker, I would recommend getting a taxi for a couple of the areas to get to the next.

Kyoto was great.
Kyoto was great. It was so different from our home country that we enjoyed every minute. Our guide was friendly and informative, and ensured that our trip went smoothly from one place to another. We were lucky to have the same guide to show us around Osaka the next day.

Osaka is a vibrant city for sure
Osaka is a vibrant city for sure. If you are a foodie, it is a great place. We are into vintage Japan, and on the outskirts, there are many areas that have vintage manga stores, to photo cameras, to Shinsekai area. Our guide was great. Mie took us from area to area seamlessly, and took the stress out of moving around this busy city. I recommend a guide if you don't want to spend half your time getting lost.

Osaka to Kyoto is doable.
We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to go to Kyoto because our cruise ship Kyoto tour was already sold out. Turns out we loved this route better because having a private guide allowed us to customize to our pace and interests, rather than being shuttled like a herd of sheep. Haha Much better than getting lost trying to do it on our own for sure.

That is great that you made it to Kyoto as you wanted. Kansai is great because Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe are all near each other in the Kansai region. Yes, guests rave over the private custom experience when they learn about it and switch over. Glad you all enjoyed.

Kyoto has large shrines, temples, and many charming small streets.
We booked with the same company for both Osaka and Kyoto. City Panorama was very good with communication. Kyoto was wonderful. The shrines and temples were very large compared to the other cities we went to.
Many small quaint streets with old school charm. If you can get to Kyoto, I highly recommend.
