Viator completely dropped the ball here. They sent me the tickets, but did not send me any updates on the location. I messaged them and no reply. I called them and no one picked up. Then I contacted Viator and the customer representative said I was dropped because the trip was sold out. Unbelievable. I did get a refund, but the lack of professionalism was astounding.
A sort of scam. I received a phone call just 15 minutes before the tour from the guide. She had to cancel the tour. Because she phoned me from a private number, I decided not only to contact the tour operator but to go to the meeting point and proof that there was not any guide. Despite the evidence, they dis not reimburse me.
Absolut scam. The guide phoned me 45 minutes before the beginning of the tour to cancel it due to her long delay. I immediately contacted Viator and also went to the meeting point to collect evidence that the guide was not there. Sent the video and screenshots to viator but they did not issue any refund.
The guide was nice but the organization was awful. At our arrival, the guide wanted to change all the tour and to do something else. Then we had to pay for him the transportation fees and the ticket entrance for the temples. Furthermore, our tickets to the temples were included in the package but when we arrived the tour guide said to us that we have to pay for our tickets and for himslef. I have never seen that before that we have to pay for the tour guide (the transportation..) I have done many others tours but this one was the worst. I do not recommande this tour.
Learned a lot and enjoyed our guide. Sites selected helped understand the two main religions in Japan.
The sights were outstanding! Don’t miss either of these! It was nice to have assistance with the transportation and navigation. We enjoyed hearing some history but could have been more. Andrea from Colombia was our guide. She was very nice with a moderate accent so little difficult to understand. There was some confusion on our tour and debate between the guide and guests in the beginning on the itinerary. I guess they also combine our 3 hr tour with full day tours. The other guests did not sound like they knew the itinerary. The meeting place was a little difficult as our taxi driver did not take us to the west exit and we didn’t know there was a central exit. Overall good tour just some awkward moments
My experience on this tour was fantastic, Robert told us about history and the mitology of japan, someone from the group also participated doing part of the ritual to find the right person in one of the temples, I highly recommend this tour
