We had such a wonderful experience at the Lesung Bali Cooking Class! The food was incredibly flavorful and delicious, and I especially loved that the recipes were approachable and easy to replicate at home. The instructions were clear, informative, and delivered in such a fun and engaging way. It was the perfect combination of learning, cooking, and enjoying amazing Balinese food. A memorable experience and definitely one I would recommend to anyone visiting Bali!
Before we started cooking, we talked about the Balinese house where we were. Then it was explained step by step what we needed to prepare, and what the ingredients exactly were. We laughed a lot with the chef and it was very cozy, with a delicious dinner afterwards that we cooked ourselves. A recommendation!
It was a wonderful dining experience in Ubud. Starting with a visit to the morning market, I was able to catch a glimpse of the daily lives of the Balinese people while looking at local ingredients and spices. In the cooking class, I learned traditional and fun cooking methods, such as grinding spices with a stone mill and wrapping ingredients in banana leaves. The teacher was bright and friendly, and it was a very good memory to enjoy cooking while laughing and chatting with everyone who participated from other countries. The finished dish was beautifully plated and very delicious. The time spent savoring the food we made together in a place surrounded by greenery became even more special. Also, the free shuttle service to the hotel was very appreciated. The driver was very kind, and I felt safe participating. It was a memorable experience where I could feel not only the food of Bali, but also the culture, daily life, and the warmth of the people. This is highly recommended for those who want to experience Bali a little deeper than just sightseeing in Ubud!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class. I loved that you got to make the Balinese Complete Spice Mix base and then use this in a variety of ways to make lots of different dishes. We did it with a children and they loved it too.
Our cooking class in Ubud was a genuinely great experience for all five of us. We learned a lot, had fun the entire time, and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The instructors were friendly, patient, and engaging, making every step easy to follow and adding small cultural details that made everything even more interesting.The dishes we prepared were authentic, flavorful, and very different from what we usually cook at home. It was fun discovering new ingredients and techniques, and even better tasting everything at the end — surprisingly delicious considering it was our first time.Overall, it was a perfect mix of learning, laughing, cooking, and experiencing Balinese culture in a hands‑on way. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ubud.

We highly recommend this cooking class to anyone looking for an authentic Balinese experience and a fun way to learn more about the local cuisine!
The operator aranaged transportation to pick us up at our resort in Ubud. Upon arrival to the venue we were given a tour of their home. Talk about an immersive experience. The instructors educated us about the ingredients used and gave clear instructions for preparing our meal. We had a great time and will do again when we return to Bali in 2028.
