Such a fantastic experience learning about Oaxacan food and cooking! We loved getting hands-on and learning about the local ingredients, traditional techniques and the culture behind the dishes. The class was relaxed, fun and really informative, and Chef Adhey was wonderful — knowledgeable, passionate and happy to share so much about Oaxacan food and traditions. Also Enrique with his kind hospitality and great dance moves and music choice.
Best experience ever. You become a part of their family as they share a part of their culture and generational knowledge.
From the time Enrique picked me up until the end the whole experience was once in a lifetime! We cooked a great meal based on Oaxaca culture and Chef Andrade’s elders and ancestors. It was FANTASTIC! I was solo, however by the time I arrived, I never felt alone. Their children came and gave us hugs after returning from swimming!! So sweet! The cooking class itself was so educational and very hands on. Chef walked us through each ingredient and how it is traditionally prepared. Need I say that the best part was EATING! We sat at the table together like family. I can’t say enough great things about my experience. I would 100% recommend!! If you are considering this experience, BOOK IT!
This was one of the best experiences my partner and I did in Mexico. Adhey & her husband Enrique are the loveliest people, they were so friendly and welcoming. The cooking class was awesome fun, and the food we made at the end was genuinely some of the best we had during our entire trip. Incredibly high recommendation to others for doing this tour!
We did the traditional Oaxacan cooking class and absolutely loved it. From the moment we arrived, Adhey and Enrique welcomed us with such warmth that it genuinely felt like we were cooking alongside family. Learning the traditional recipes passed down from Adhey’s abuelita made the experience even more special. The food was incredible - packed with delicious flavours and spice. Such a memorable and heartfelt way to experience Oaxacan food and culture!
This was a high value excursion I invited my family visiting from Virginia/ DC area to join me for as part of their week-long visit to Oaxaca to celebrate a special birthday. While we have been having multiple fabulous experiences every day, this was cited as the “favorite” by several in our group. Adhey and her husband and the entire team are simply excellent. The food was delicious and the process of cooking together and the quality of instruction sublime. You will be hard pressed to find another experience with this level of quality and value. Highly recommend !!! So fun, so informative, and truly memorable. Very detail is considered to perfection.

Beyond learning about Oaxacan cooking, what makes this experience truly special is the generosity with which they share their recipes, stories, traditions, and love for what they do. Well organized and hosts knowledgeable and friendly. However, theypaid no attention to spiciness requirements; almost nobody could eat the main dishes because they were too spicy. Despite the $90 individual fee and that they ran a successful bakery, there was no dessert.
I can't explain the amazing experience. They are very welcoming to there home, the love and history of there ancestors is amazing. 100% recommend.
