Leonel and his wife Paola were fantastic. My best friend and I were able to enjoy a private tour with them. The commentary, the history, the free massages, the two-for-one specials and the job offers, simply said, great time! Highly recommend and do it all over. Although it was a holiday and we couldn’t spend as much time as we wished in the stops due to the crowds, they insured we had time to nibble, shop, wander and want to return.
Leonel was awesome. We decided not to take the train and we were so glad we booked with Desirable Portugal for our transportation from Porto to Lisbon. Stopping at 4 different locations along the way. Leonel lead us on a personal tour sharing the history and specialties of each location and pointed us in the direction of optimal viewpoints for great pictures & memories. We enjoyed our day so much that we booked with Leonel again for a tour of Sintra. Marilyn

Leonel was a delight to spend the day with. His vast knowledge of the history of the areas we visited (Tomar and Óbidos) made everything we saw have so much more meaning that if we had explored on our own. He recommended a great little authentic restaurant for lunch and dined with us as we enjoyed a delicious lunch…especially the dessert! I only wish we had more places to go so we could be spending more time with him!
Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. We did not want to rent a car and this was a perfect way to see and do a lot in transport between Porto to Lisbon. It worked out better than driving yourself in someways too since the small towns were packed (even in low sesson) parking was limited. A few times at a popular viewpoint, he would wait with the car while we popped out to take photos. A lot of history provided. Car was roomy and comfortable.
We traveled from Porto to Lisbon with Leonel, and it was an unforgettable day. Our family of five visited charming small towns, learned some history, and enjoyed lunch at an amazing restaurant we never would have discovered on our own. We absolutely loved our day. Leonel was an excellent guide - friendly, accommodating, and clearly passionate about what he does. We highly recommend him!
We saw Aveiro, Nazaré and Óbidos on our journey from Porto to Lisbon. We made stops in each town, and we really enjoyed how each of them gave off a different “vibe”. We loved every minute of each place. Leonel was friendly and gave lots of great information. It was a wonderful day. Our favorite was Obidos and trying the ginjinha. Would absolutely recommend Leonel over public transportation.
