It is a ALWAYS enjoyable for the history buff when he/she finally gets to see where history was made. This section of rooms is in the neighborhood of Whitehall, Big Ben and the very seat of British government. The rooms are well preserved and give a sense of what it was like for people working in government during the difficult days of the Blitz and beyond. If you have seen televised recreations of some of these moments. such as re-created phone calls with FDR-- then you will like seeing the room with a phone that was used for those calls. . I was struck by the various offices that also included beds. The politics of war never stopped and the need for vigilance never ebbed. I learned more about the uncomfortable aspects of the war, as experienced by Londoners in that era, and the less-pleasant aspects of living basically below ground for periods of time. The exhibit introduces the non-British visitor to more aspects of Churchill's history and details of conversations and relationships with cabinet members during that time. You can stay for 2 hours or 5 hours and barely take it all in. Caution for those who maybe do not walk so well--- there is a lot of standing in front of exhibits. If you have a walker with a seat in it....or a wheelchair...that will keep the experience comfortable. One of the staff members of the War Room offered a wheelchair to one visitor who had come without one...but needed it. P.S History sometimes goes through a revisionist phase, especially after enough time has passed and people have forgotten it. This seems to be true with the recollections of some about Churchill in this era. The War Rooms exhibit should challenge some of the revisionism.
Dear V6402HYrobins, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful and detailed review of your visit to the Churchill War Rooms. We’re truly delighted to hear that the experience resonated so deeply with you as a history enthusiast. As you rightly observed, the preserved rooms offer a powerful insight into the daily realities faced by government officials during the Blitz and beyond. The personal touches—such as the bedrooms integrated into offices and the secure communication lines used for pivotal conversations with figures like President Roosevelt—really do bring history to life in a unique and sobering way. Your reflections on the more challenging aspects of the exhibit—both physical and historical—are equally appreciated. We agree that understanding the lived experience of Londoners during wartime, especially from within the very heart of government operations, adds a necessary depth to the story. We're also pleased to hear that the staff on-site were attentive to the needs of visitors requiring additional mobility support, as accessibility is something we and our partners take very seriously. Your closing note about historical revisionism is particularly poignant. One of the aims of the Churchill War Rooms exhibit is indeed to present a nuanced and factual account, allowing visitors to explore the complexities of leadership and decision-making during one of the most critical periods in modern history. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We hope to welcome you on another Evan Evans experience soon, where history, culture, and discovery are always just around the corner. Warm regards, The Evan Evans Team
This is the best museum in London, hands down. Beautiful restoration of WW2 bunker and tons of information. Get tickets ahead of time as this will sell out.

Trip Canceled. Airline and hotel reservations were canceled due to virus. Could not receive a refund.
Dear Guest, We are very sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience. At the moment most of our cancellation policies have been brought down to 24 hours as we understand the need for flexibility during the current environment. However when it is a third party ticket (like the Churchill War Rooms) we are unfortunately bound by the venues cancellation terms. However if we can assist further, we will. Please could you email us with more information (including your booking number) and we will look into this for you. Best wishes, Evan Evans Team

EXCELLENT! A must if you visit London. Even if you think you know a lot about WWII or Churchill, you will discover new amazing things
Loved it. So interesting. It’s a great exhibition. Makes you feel like you are really there. Very interesting insight into his life. The cafe soup in a tin cup is delicious.
Well worth a visit !! Interactive, informative and entertaining. Loved it Churchill has been always fascinated me as he faltered through his early career but he was definitely the man of the hour!
If you enjoyed movies-books roughly based on actual WWII events, or have been interested in WWII history, this is a MUST SEE destination. I am not a big scholar, but I admire Churchill and this tour brought him and the events occurring in London during the war to life. If you're not really interested in WWII or Churchill, its not for you. Do not recommend for kids under 16 years of age. Allow time - at least 1.5-2.0 hours, to immerse yourself in this very unique and rarely preserved site. Well-narrated self-guided audio tour.
This venue needs to be explored on multiple visits. So much to see about Churchill’s life and career. We reached overload about two hours in. Great if you want to just see the place itself and get an idea of what went on there during WWII.
There is so much here to see and learn about regarding Churchill himself and also the British government functioning during WWII. Definitely a must for anyone interested in WWII. I would recommend at least 3 hours as there are so many exhibits, displays, and information here.
