The visit to the lion park was very shocking, very upsetting to see how the animals are kept. Lion cubs looked like they’ve been sedated, emo with broken beak. But the water fight with all the jeeps and the boat trip was great. Our guide Mickey Mouse was brilliant. I’m just concerned for the welfare of the animals in the park, especially with the money you have to pay.

I visited the Animal Park in the Oymapınar/Manavgat area on 29 September 2026 as part of an excursion and left extremely concerned about the welfare of several animals. I personally saw lion cubs being offered to tourists for paid handling and photographs. Some appeared unusually lethargic and minimally responsive. I have video footage showing one cub initially holding its head upright before its head drops backwards/downwards. I cannot determine the medical cause and I am not claiming sedation as fact, but in my view the behaviour warrants independent veterinary assessment. I also saw adult lions in very bare, hard-surfaced enclosures with little visible enrichment and faeces present. Ostriches appeared to have serious eye injuries or abnormalities, emus had what appeared to be blood or red material around their eyes, and a pale-coloured deer had a very pronounced swelling beneath its jaw/upper neck. I have preserved original photographs and videos and have formally reported what I witnessed to the relevant Turkish authorities and several animal-welfare organisations. Born Free has received a formal Raise the Red Flag report with supporting evidence. I would urge anyone considering an excursion involving this animal park or paid lion-cub handling to think carefully before financially supporting it. This review describes only what I personally observed. I am not making a medical diagnosis or claiming to know the cause of any animal’s condition.

Firstly as a family with young kids they enjoyed the day on a whole. However , the zoo was horrific... large animals in tiny cages and skinny lions bread for a tourist attraction. We booked through our hotel and was told it was holding lions and a safari with a mud bath and scenic green lake. Upon arrival we were told there would be loads of water fights and u were advised to buy water guns at €10 each so thats €30 gone. Then told our tickets didnt include entry. So another 25 for 5 us. Then 10 each to sit with drugged up baby lions for 1 minutes (another €40). Then offered for another 10 each, photos with monkeys. All the animals were in tiny cages with no actual grass ju# mud and stones. Reindeer were on a slope cage with nothing but rocks. If it was in Uk 100% would be shut down. Then off on the water fight which was fun just make sure u take guns in advance and any phones etc are covered up in bags as u get absolutely soaked. Then the boat trip which is a circular route round the beautiful lake, here is another photo they try sell u at the end stood at the end of the boat. You then moor up at a now sunken shell of a building (think lakes man made as there is a dam] for the mud bath. Well there was no mud bath it was a metal troff with the mud in. However to get it u had to pull yourself up the side of the building which was prob just under 2ft and way to difficult for kids many woman. Or you swam down and go through the windows of the building, again not ideal of your worried about being submerged and id say about 25% of people did this in total. Lunch was 1 chicken breast, pasta , salad and bread (with no spread to put on it). You were then guilt tripped into buying drinks from the venue and told to put any drinks away that you had brought yourself as it wasnt fair on the venue apparently. After this u could swim (no one was supervising the swimming in a lake filled with tree roots etc). There was free archery and shooting (which was fun). Horse riding was €5 each but we didn't see anyone take that up. Then onto another water fight before stopping at a restaurant in the hill with lovely views. Here we purchaed two cocktails and 3 bags of sweets and 3 slushes €53. Here they brought round the photos from the lions which started at €25 for one pic and then the haggling starts. Which i think by the end it was €25 for all 4 photos with frames (we didnt purchase as u can take ur own pics on ur phone ) Last is a foam party in a gravel car park with music. Which the kids loved as any kid would. Overall its a fun day especially for kids, but a expensive one (we spent around £300 all in with the extras) Extras: Zoo entry To have pics with lions Ice creams Drinks Sweets Water guns

If you know what you’re going to see and are prepared it’s an amazing experience . The water fights on the busses is amazing and great fun. Take your own water pistols or pay $10 a gun the zoo is small and run down it’s very sad but amazing to hold baby lions. The boat trip is lovely take drinks and snacks with you as everywhere is set up to make you buy drinks food ect just take plenty yourself.

Booked via the website www.antalyalionpark.com, nicely received a booking confirmation and also picked up on time. Then driven to a meeting place where you received an explanation about the day and where they sold water guns. Nowhere on their site did it say that you had to buy your own water guns to participate in the water fight. Just as it was not stated anywhere that drinks were not included with lunch and that you had to pay for them yourself. The last stop was the lion park, which was too pathetic. If I had read the reviews earlier, I never would have gone! You supposedly paid €10 per person to cuddle with the baby lions and have a photo with them, but in reality, there was a huge queue, so you walked into their cage, a baby lion (sleeping) was pressed onto your lap, a photo was taken, and you had to get out so the next person could go. The animals were drugged, barely opened their eyes, and when they did open them, they looked so pitiful in their eyes... terrible!! They were also all in steel cages with little space.

Disappointing and Very Expensive Excursion This is one excursion I strongly wish I hadn’t wasted my money on. We paid **£105 for the excursion**, which I already felt was quite expensive. The journey there took around **1 hour and 10 minutes**. When we arrived, we were then expected to pay an additional **€5 per person just to enter the zoo**. This came as a surprise, as we had already paid £105 for the excursion. Once inside the zoo, there is the opportunity to hold a baby lion, but this costs **€10** and includes a photo. You aren’t allowed to take your own photo. You can also hold a monkey or a snake, but again, you are then asked to pay €10 for the photo and aren't allowed to take your own pictures. A family we were travelling with did manage to take a photo on their own phone, but they were then told they couldn’t purchase the professional photo, despite having already paid the €10. During the boat trip, we were repeatedly asked if we wanted our photos taken. We chose not to because we couldn’t afford to buy the photos and didn’t want to waste anyone’s time. However, I was made to feel very uncomfortable for saying no, which I found really unpleasant. The Green Canyon itself is actually a man-made lake. We did get the opportunity to swim, and the freshwater was lovely, so this was one of the better parts of the day. Lunch was included and was actually quite nice, although **all drinks were extra**. There was also a water fight on the buses, which was really good fun, but the water guns cost **€10 each**. We were then taken to a terrace café, where I bought a round of drinks. When I checked my Monzo account afterwards, I was shocked to see that **four drinks had cost me £48** - two alcoholic drinks and two milkshakes. There was then a foam party, which we chose not to get involved in. By the end of the day, I had spent an additional **£120 on top of the original £105 excursion cost**. For me, that’s far too much extra money to be spending throughout an excursion that has already cost £105. I appreciate that some people may really enjoy the experience, but I personally felt that there were too many additional charges and too much pressure to spend money. **Overall, I really wish we had saved our money and done something else.**

We had a really great day, the only downfalls were the conditions of the zoo. I just can't believe that in this day and age, animals are being kept in these conditions. There is no care for the animals, they are a huge money making part of a tour. Lions are clearly being bread so as photos of the cubs can be taken with people. There were so many cubs and so many lions. The zoo is so far away that they gather people together on these tours and charge extra prices for entry and photos. The zoo is in a very sad state and it's so sad to know the animals will live the rest of their lives in those conditions. Putting all that aside the day was fun but I was shocked you had to buy a water gun for 10euros if you wanted to do the water fight. They are certainly out to make a profit! Our tour guide was absolutely lovely and talked us around the place explaining things along our journey.

We booked the Lion Safari through Amit on the Eftalia Island beachfront. The trip was advertised as including a mud bath, water fights, a visit to a zoo and photos with lion cubs. The water fights between the open vehicles were definitely high-adrenaline and great fun, but be prepared to get absolutely soaked. Unfortunately, some people took it too far; at one stop a guest from another bus got onto ours and threw a can of beer over a teenager on our bus. Our driver was also pulled over by the police, possibly due to speed, safety concerns or the lack of seat belts. Despite that, the safari was one of the highlights of our holiday, along with the boat trip and the chance to swim in the lagoon. The downside was the organisation. We were picked up from our hotel at 8:30am, but it was around 2.5 hours before the actual safari started. After about an hour’s drive we stopped at a café for refreshments, photos and the sale of water guns, which were very expensive unless negotiated — I managed to get four for 2,000 Turkish lira. The advertised mud bath never happened. Instead, the children were given a 15-minute foam party in a car park with no shade. The worst part of the trip was the zoo and lion cub photo experience. The cubs appeared to be sedated and were repeatedly picked up for photos for financial gain. I paid 1,200 Turkish lira for myself and my daughter, but after walking around the zoo and seeing what I felt were very poor and cruel living conditions for the animals, I refused to pay the additional £10 per photos to have them sent via WhatsApp. Dinner was included but again drinks were at an additional cost. Overall, the safari had some fantastic moments, but the poor organisation, welfare concerns and extra charges left a sour ending to the experience.

I visited the animal park that is located near the Green canyon included in the Safari and which was paid on site, well well….. a little scam well hidden, so we paid like all the participants the 5 euro announced.. In short, that is not the real problem. The real problem is the animal condition; the people on-site push the females to have multiple litters so as not to stop the financial windfall that the lion cubs bring, in addition to being in cages that are much too small for their personal well-being. Not to mention the foul odor. Park to be avoided

Beware, this is a trap that wastes your time and money. Travel agencies don't give you accurate information.
