This is a thorough and insightful tour of the Old Town history and the Third Reich rally grounds. Andreas was very charming and knowledgeable.
Nuremberg is a lovely city filled with incredible history and so much to see. Andreas was a fantastic tour guide who came prepared with interesting stories and photo books to illustrate significant events from the past. I was traveling with family with ages ranging from 30s- 80s, and Andreas allowed us to modify our itinerary to accommodate the older travelers. I cannot say enough good things about Andreas' flexibility, warm and pleasant nature, and incredible patience when dealing with all of us, in addition to his deep knowledge of Nuremberg! If you are considering a walking tour of this beautiful city, do yourself a favor and connect with Andreas as your guide. Your trip will be so much richer for it.
Andreas, from the Nuremberg Free Walking Tour, offered us a very personalized and fun day exploring Nuremberg. His passion for history and knowledge really made the experience transformative. My son, Andrew, and I connected with him easily at the Nuremberg train station (he flexed to our train arrival time from Munich), and the day exploring the area was awesome! He modified the routing to maximize our time at the Rally Grounds (Documentation Center Nazi Party Grounds Museum), Nuremberg Court House (Trials/Museum), and the Kaisenburg Imperial Castle. His local knowledge allowed us to really enjoy the day. We saw St. Sebald's Cathedral (couldn't enter since the holiday). Lunch was authentic and a local favorite (3 sausages on a roll). We capped the day with some tasty gelato. HE WAS AMAZING!! We wouldn't have had the same experience without his guidance. Note: He displayed acts of kindness multiple times and that just made it even better.
Our guide Andreas asked us before we set off what we were most interested in and helpfully tailored our half day tour accordingly. We were keen to visit two important sites in the history of the third reich: the former Nuremberg rally grounds and the Nuremberg trial courtroom. Our knowledge was greatly expanded through these visits and we gained valuable insights from our guide. We also enjoyed something of life in contemporary Nuremberg and very much enjoyed riding on the underground system and bus network to reach these sites. Along the way we really enjoyed the chance to ask questions of an historical and contemporary nature and receive thoughtful, informed replies. This tour simply made our day and lasting memories of our visit to Nuremberg.
This is a first class experience for a small group. Andreas, our guide was superb. Lots of flexibility on what we did and how long. Great knowledge. Highly recommended.
I highly recommend a walking tour with Andreas. He is very well informed with the old city of Nuremberg. It would have been very unlikely for my partner and I to have discovered all the special spots Andreas walked us to…and we were staying only blocks away. He is a very nice guy and easy to talk to.
